What we are asking for is more background checks and more laws to make it harder for guns to end up in the wrong hands and the people that want to cause harm to others. One key item that studies have found that gun control laws affect the use of specific guns in violent crimes, but do not affect the crime rate itself. This is true to some extent, and what we want is mass shootings to end. This will not stop criminals and mentally ill people from buying guns on the streets. Yes, true but if we gun owners are responsible gun owner, and we do the right thing we can stop guns from reaching the streets.
Gun Control: Constitutional? Amendment II: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. In the United States Bill of Rights, the second amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms. This amendment has created one of our country’s most debated topics over the past decade. In recent years, the number of deaths caused by firearms has increased which has caused some citizens having the need to push for gun control laws.
Do they think that the criminals are going to give up their firearms just because it’s “illegal” to possess them? If current gun control laws put forth by this administration were enacted, law abiding citizens would be the only unarmed population in this country. This would work out well for the criminals who want to take our wallet of rob your home. We as a people need to stand up and let our politicians know that we are more protected when we are allowed to protect ourselves. If the aim of our government is to protect our schools, then why not post an armed serviceman at ever school.
Some people believe that if no one had guns there would be no crime however, criminals will still find ways to get guns and this will leave everyone else unarmed and vulnerable. The complete banning of guns would not solve the issue of violent crimes it would only remove guns from the hands of individuals who need them for protection. I believe we do need gun control laws in America but not to the extent of banning guns altogether. America needs to concentrate more on ways to keep guns out of the hands of criminals instead of taking them away from the ones that need
What I believe is who can have guns which should only be for military and law enforcement. The first reasons are gun murders. This has 11,078 deaths that are 100,000 deaths per population. There are many types of gun murders. There is 1st degree, premeditated murder, which that case of guns made it easier, but the killer may have killed no matter what if the murder had time to premeditated.
Can we allow ourselves to become completely defenseless against someone trying to hurt or kill us? Should we allow everyone to have a gun and know how to use it? Some people believe that we should have more gun control, making it so that only the police and other people of authority carried guns then the world would be a safer place. They believe that making it harder or impossible to purchase guns will result in less crime and less people getting killed. Under this train of thought people would feel safer.
Nation’s Safety Gun control has remained an issue for several decades in U.S. It is legal for U.S citizens to possess weapons for their safety. People can protect themselves from robbers or killers if they are attacked, but the same weapons can also be used for assault instead of defense. Twenty-six U.S citizens died in Newton, Connecticut, because of a lack of gun control. Even though the U.S constitution in the second amendment has given the right to citizens to possess weapons, gun control laws should be strengthened to stop the supply of weapons to the wrong hands such as feral criminals, mentally ill people or children to avoid violent incidents, bloodshed and loss of several precious lives.
If a person who holds a gun license threatens another individual physically or verbally should have their license provoked permanently, for the safety of the other individual. This solution can be very effective when it comes to saving a life. A gun is neither good nor bad; it often depends on how and why it is used. Whether you have a gun or not keep in mind that having one is a great responsibility, which requires much thought and effort on the part of the gun owner (Staff Writer). We need stricter laws on gun ownership, it seems that as long as an individual doesn’t have a criminal background they are allowed to bear arms.
If there were stricter gun laws in place how are people suppose to feel safe in their homes. Criminals are called criminals for a reason they do not live their life with respect to laws, they always find a loop hole to get what they want. “Gun free zones do little to protect law-abiding citizens, law abiding citizens do not carry guns in these areas, but criminals do; this will only make soft targets for criminals and increase the chance of violent crimes” (2010). Everyone has a constitutional right to bear arms, and legislation will only be taking away the rights of people to protect themselves. Everything can be posed as a threat not just gun, “In 2013 there have been killing sprees with knives and bombs at the Boston Marathon; three people were killed and 264 were injured when the Tsarnaev brothers set two bombs and a student in Houston
Many states have created have laws preventing any felons from using or owning guns of any type. On top of this there are locations where guns are not allowed. With this there is also a ban on the dangerous assault weapon. Many of the gun enthusiast provide a middle ground. The say that what is a good idea is not the blanket ban of guns, which is unconstitutional because of new meaning of the second amendment, but rather a continuation of the current limits of guns and gun owners.
