I personally am a strong believer that an “ideal society” should have no guns; nevertheless crime is a big problem to the citizens of our society and guns are necessary. Therefore, it is not recommended that we ban guns completely. The most pragmatic thing to do is to reduce the availability of guns and make it difficult to procure them by making sure that they are given only to people who are mentally capable of handling them. There is a definite need to ban guns since their liberal usage leads to large-scale public massacres, which are suited for the field of war, not civilized society. Weapons like automatic rifles and assault weapons are tools created with the purpose of mass killings.
Gun control laws have become such a huge controversy in the United States due to the fact that citizens believe their Second Amendment right is being taken away from them. In my eyes, I believe that extended gun control measures should be taken to ensure that access to assault weapons should be limited to certain people. I believe one deserve a well rounded background check to see if any mental health issues are visible. I also believe you have the right to own a weapon and the government is not trying to take away your hunting rifles, personal permitted handguns, etc. They government is emphasizing more on the fully automatic weapons, explosives, armor and other things that only the military should have access to.
Therefore, guns cannot be singled out and blamed for all of gun control. Instead of taking guns away from law-abiding citizens, we should take them away from the criminals; and deal with the root of it all that causes crime and violence, such as poverty, discrimination, unemployment, etc. Guns are not the real cause of the problem, the people are. So now we need to find a solution to the problem and let’s figure out what we could do to control gun violence. One solution about the problem may be to speak up about the problem.
US citizens do not support bans imposed on the ownership of gun, but at the same time control of gun ownership. US citizens are further divided one group supports gun control while another group support the right to gun. Politically democrats and republican do not hold the same view on gun control. Most democrats prefers stricter regulations on gun control but the republicans are usually further divided into two groups some are for softer regulation while
Gun Control Laws in America Firearms should not be restricted, nor should their accessories or capabilities. Placing laws that take away from our right to bear arms would only give negative effect on the safety of the general public and the amount of crimes committed. People need guns to protect themselves from the people who want to corrupt their lives by using guns, regardless of the law. Gun control laws vary from state to state. In the republic of California, some would say we have some of the worst laws and restrictions in the country.
Politicians have stated thy will introduce new laws wanting tougher background checks, forced registration, and outright banning of military looking firearms. All these types of new laws will cut down on crime and make this country a safer place. But I believe the way to protect against a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun. First of all on the issue of it will cut down on violent crime, who are they kidding criminals rarely obey laws; studies show most criminals acquire guns through friends or theft. Adam Lanza the shooter at Newtown stole the guns he used from his mother.
1 December 2010 A Gun Free World "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." (U.S Constitution) An American citizen's right to own guns is upheld by the Second Amendment to the Constitution. However, many people feel that the amendment is outdated, and that gun control is extremely important in an American society. I believe that Americans do need gun control based on facts. I think that there are too many crimes being committed in the United States because of our right to “bear arms”.
67% of Americans own a gun for protection from crime. In addition 66% are for target shooting, and 41% for hunting (Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence). These reasons are only for personal uses and most likely will not injure any one on purpose. The security when you buy a gun should be tighter, so that not everyone can buy one. A certain type of gun should only be allowed to a certain person.
Armed Security in Schools “Why ban one and not the other? And once you start banning semiautomatics, where do you stop?” (Milloy) Society believes the ban of guns is going to stop the violence in America, while most people don’t realize that by banning firearms, we as a society will only increase the power of the criminal over law abiding citizens. The man at the Sandy Hook Elementary School could have been avoid by many ways such as the mother not owning a gun knowing her son had a mental illness, or keeping a tighter lock on the gun in a safe that only she would have access too, finally one of the best ideas to be suggested is the proposal of having armed security guards in school. I believe that we should have armed security in our schools to protect our children by having an armed security as deterrents, President Children get secret service agents yet our children have nothing, finally properly trained and certified school staff to carry firearm. Having an armed security guard or peace officers at our school alone will act as a deterrent towards violent criminals from thinking about going to the school and committing a shooting.
Would carrying a concealed weapon make every day citizens feel safer knowing they have something to defend themselves with instead of standing by and watching while criminals break in their homes or even rob them on the streets. What if having that weapon is a matter of life or death for you? The one question people toy around with is if the right to bear arms is unconstitutional. Some say that the second amendment is meant for only a well-regulated militia to have the right to bear arms, or that the fact of being able to carry guns is just silly. 2 Info The right to bear arms is presented in the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
