Compare and Contrast Batman vs Superman Not often in literary history do two characters contrast and match each other so well. Batman and Superman are the figure heads of DC comics and were the only characters keeping the comic giant above the rising waters of collapse. It is natural that the characters, both sixty plus years in print, have acquired a massive fan base. The fan base of the two juggernauts of comics have been known to attack one another with claims on who is superior or who is the most interesting. With all of the fan "wars" several reoccurring traits of the characters have been the basis of most claims on who is truly the best comic book character.
They also have an amazing skill component of supernatural abilities which enhance their civilian identities. Superman, Wonder Woman, Hulk, Spiderman, are all perfect examples of the best superheros. Although not all superheros live an undercover lifestyle when they are not saving the world, having two separate identities is a common theme among superheros. For example, Superman, a fictional hero who appears in DC comic books and movies, goes by the name Clark Kent. Clark Kent was raised in Smallville, Kansas by an average human family.
I mainly find conflict with this part of the article when the author talks about Jesus as a superhero, this is because Jesus was real. “Every era creates the superheroes it needs.” He was a real person that was born in the city of Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph, but his true father was God. In addition, to this Jesus’ miraculous powers were not bestowed to him from birth of his own accord, but rather he was able to do these things through the Holy Spirit. Other than this, I do agree with the main message of the article that people try to emulate the actions of superheroes, “that it's an impulse, we have this need to transcend human weakness and immortalize ourselves." We as a people try to surpass the limitations of a normal human being such as Usain Bolt’s running skill, Michael Phelps swimming talent, or CPL Craig Harrison’s marksmanship.
Superman vs. Batman Heroes are people who reflect the morals, and the times correlated with that era. No one adapts more to the times then superheroes. The most popular superheroes have been around for almost 100 years going back to WWI. With all the choices in superheroes, two still stand way above the rest, Superman and Batman. The cape crusader and the man of steel still remain in the limelight, because they are THE originals.
The Science fiction novel, “Ender’s Game” is about an extraordinary third child who is illegal due to current population control laws. He is a genius child named Ender Wiggin that has been closely watched by government officials through a monitor on the back of his neck from the time he was born. This monitoring allows the government to see everything Ender does, how he acts and what he says. The government officials are responsible for conducting monitoring such as this in an attempt to find future leaders to help Earth defeat an alien race called the “Buggers” that were recently fended off in the first battle. The government soon realizes his skillful, aggressive actions and cunning behavior after removing the monitor.
What is a superhero? Dictionary.com says a superhero is “a hero, especially in children's comic books and television cartoons, possessing extraordinary, often magical powers.” When you think of a superhero one would normally think of Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman, but in Pinzon essay they are individuals that normal everyday people can look up to. These individuals dedicated their lives to serving their family by working in extreme conditions at low wages to pay for their family’s needs. Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. Pinzon essay shows that people in today’s society can be compared to fictional superheroes, and that they are the true heroes of this world.
With each character having their own heroic qualities they can also be very similar. Batman unlike most superheroes does not hold any superpowers. His physical strength, wealth and martial arts skills help him fight his war on crime. Spiderman, on the other hand, has super strength with the ability to cling to most surfaces, shoot spider-webs and react to danger quickly. Superman uses his superhuman strength, speed stamina, freezing breath, super hearing and vision powers to fight off his enemies and to save his fellow citizens.
From boyhood, Himmler was always pushed by his father that wanted him to be the perfect German. Like a V-1 rocket, “powered by a duct motor with a pulsating flow of fuel,” Himmler is powered by his father to be flawless even though everyone is imperfect (235). It is the universal truth that no human is perfect, but the Germans considered themselves the Aryan race, which was supposed to be superior than any race alive. Himmler’s father rejected the idea that Himmler is not perfect, especially physically with “his body still retains the mark of that illness” (243). Humans are not the only imperfect things in the world, but even technology can have flaws.
never landed on the moon. It has been 44 years since man took his first steps on the moon. The majority of the American public accepts the moon landings as truth, but there are a very vocal select few who refuse to accept what the government has depicted. Conspiracy theorists explain that at the time the U.S. government was desperate to beat the Russians in the space race, therefore they faked the lunar landings with the astronauts acting out their mission on a secret Hollywood set, or somewhere within Area 51. They claim since that the photos and videos of the Apollo voyage are only available through NASA, there is no other independent verification, thus the moon landings were a hoax.
Most people often see these heroes as a menace to society or doing more harm than good, but at the end of the day it’s because of their social defiance that a job gets done. Batman is actually Bruce Wayne. Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker. When that character wakes up in the morning, he is Peter Parker. He has to put on a costume to become Spider-Man and it is in that characteristic, Superman stands alone.
