During my senior year of high school, the thought of college was both horrifying and intriguing to me. It is expected now of everyone in today’s society to attend college due to the demands for highly diversified and qualified applicants, and the tough economic situation of the country. Getting into college, for me meant amplifying my chances of getting a job, attaining increased knowledge and skills and becoming more globally connected. My decision to attend College was in direct correlation to its diverse students and intellectual staff. As a child, I fell in love with the medical profession, specifically doctors. What they did intrigued and captivated my imagination, which is why I have ever since grown to have a profound love for the sciences, particularly Chemistry. I believe this passion of mine will further be exploited through the intense programs offered at College. College provides top-notch education to thousands of undergraduates, graduates and doctoral degree students. It is also well equipped with laboratories and specialized equipment’s that will provide me with greater opportunities in the science field. The faculty of a college should be diverse, loving, and passionate about teaching and engaging students in research. College also provides research programs, internships and study abroad programs, which I ultimately want to partake in. Studying abroad heightens one’s experience with global connection and education, and also helps in developing one’s skills and knowledge outside their comfort zone. FDU also provides students with the opportunity to achieve hands on experience through internship programs, which will enhance my developmental skills and prepare me professionally. College has always been a frontier in not only ensuring academically distinct and intellectual students, but also providing said students with a lot of social communities
