Eventually, they start dating, and Scott learns that if he wants to stay with Ramona, he has to defeat (as in, murderously destroy) her “Seven Evil Exes”, pretty much all whom she cheated on or gruesomely dumped. The movie continues on to depict Scott’s battles with Ramona’s exes as she nonchalantly places nearly all past relational fails on previous partners, with small comments of “wanting to start over”. Eventually, Scott learns the power of self respect, starts placing his worth in his own ability, defeats the final “Ex”, along with a past version of himself, and more or less walks off into the sunset with Ramona. For this film, I will be analyzing the romantic relationships between Scott, Knives, and Ramona. Theoretical Analysis: Through the lens of attraction theory, I want to first analyze Scott’s communication and interaction patterns.
This was a thing the boys did because it cleared out the beach for the real attack. But tension built up at a very high rate, because a lady spotted the shark coming in to the pond where the small boys and the adults where. There was chaos at the beach because everyone’s attention was caught and Brody was at his best to warn his son at the pond about the shark. The havoc continued till one of the adult was killed but fear continued as brodys son was still in danger. This survival was an anti-climax.
Throughout the novel, two specific themes are constant and always relevant; betrayal and violence. One notices the theme of betrayal through Amir's experiences with Hassan and Baba, while one recognizes the theme of violence through kite fighting itself and the multiple scenes of rape and child abuse. Betrayal is an ever-present and cyclical theme in the kite runner. The major act of betrayal occurs during the first Kite Fighting event. When Hassan runs for Amir's tournament-winning kite, the notoriously evil Assef and his friends confront him.

Manny is known to “[smack] her…[kick] her…[call] her a fat twat”( Diaz 45). Oscar, being madly and blindly in love with Ana, takes his uncle pistol and contemplates about killing Manny.

christina delahys November 8, 2012 Delores English 114 Violence out of Love In the novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, the characters Beli, Oscar and Lola are all confronted with indescribable violence when trying to find love due to the curse of the “fuku”. The brutal violence that occurs within the novel easily relates back to the curse caused by the love of Abelard for his daughter by betraying Trujillo’s demands. Each character throughout the novel experiences great hardships and obstacles while trying to find true love. Although Beli, Oscar and Lola constantly attempt to find love, they always fail to do so with many instances resulting in violence. The well-known ‘fuku’ curse is the sole reason love is unattainable and violence is abundant in the Cabral family.
