Both ethnic groups have a significantly higher percentage of college graduates than the White American race does, which boasts a 29.70 percent completion rate (Schaefer, 2012). Discuss how reflection can develop professional practice through critically analysing two different models/theories of reflection in this module. The definition of reflection has been defined differently by various authors. Cottrell (2010) suggests that reflection is a type of thinking that is linked to gaining a better understanding of something and that it is also an important part of the learning experience and where we can make sense of the experience. This can be related to Boyd and Fales (1983) who suggest that reflection is a process which can be used to examine and explore an area of concern and which could potentially end in a changed perspective. These views can be compared to Boud et al.

Students who have experience in performance and music appreciation score higher on SAT’s than the students who do not have an appreciation for the arts. Music education students have higher test scores, than non-music students. Schools who offer music education have a distinct advantage, because “when it comes to graduation rates, schools with music programs enjoy an 18.7% advantage over schools that don’t offer music” (Ranier 2).

However there are many other factors that need to be considered when choosing a research method such as that of ethical and practical issues. Practical issues include time and funding whilst ethical issues include whether the researcher deceives the subjects and theoretical issues include validity, reliability and representativeness.
