Tesco operates in 12 countries outside the UK, including China, Japan and Turkey. The company has recently opened stores in the United States. This international expansion is part of Tesco’s expansion strategy to diversify and grow the business internationally. As an auditing consultant, you are asked to research accounting records and accounting systems of Tesco stores limited (PLC). You can obtain relevant information from Tesco’s website or other information sources. You are advised to visit Tesco’s annual report 2013, available on its website. You may use suitable academic material in the public domain to illustrate the main points of your analysis and discussion.
