A professional carer will understand how to work sensitively with service user individually and design goals to achieve successful outcomes. The mental capacity act clearly defines that every adult has the right to make their own decisions. It must be assumed that they have the capacity to do so, unless it has been proven otherwise.
1.2 Your own role and practice can impact on an individual who has specific communication needs as if you do not communicate with a person in a way that they understand they may feel left out and alone, hence they may suffer from additional mental health disabilities such as depression.
