The best president in U.S history I believe is Abraham Lincoln. Abe Lincoln deserved to be the best president because he led his country through the civil war, abolished slavery by issuing the emancipation proclamation, and by issuing the emancipation proclamation the north gained British support. Abe created an economic development program, which began when the country was bankrupt and made the United States the world’s greatest industrial power. I believe that the 2nd best president is George Washington. Washington led the revolutionary war which began the birth of a new nation which goes under foreign policy, helped with the constitution that had much to do with equal rights, and dealt with the whiskey rebellion.
He lays everything down in front of them to see. This kind of honesty and sincerity that he shows to the people is a new form of persuasion. Nixon’s persuasion skills made this speech a successful one, which has stuck with people even today. He used his words effectively, and did the job of refuting most if not all of the questions presenting themselves because of the funds that were donated. His final thoughts that he leaves with the people reinforce his main points, and put his full support behind his decisions and his running mate Eisenhower.
INTRODUCTION A. Attention Grabber & Introduction statement: Our national flag, the epitome of our democracy, we all fly it with pride. It symbolizes so many great aspects of our freedom, but yet nothing more symbolic than how it represents the ultimate sacrifice paid by our men and women in uniform. The flag reminds us of the rights, privileges, and freedoms we so dearly enjoy today. Lest we forget our service members for they paid the final costs.
He was such an important figure in the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War, which was a huge test of his presidency. He had to deal with massive social revolution both about the Vietnam War and Civil Rights. He had a determination to succeed, run over or around, whoever or whatever got in his way, he didn’t care who he rubbed the wrong way just as long as he felt he was doing the right thing. His drive resulted in new hope for thousands of Americans for generations to come. A good quote I found in Indomitable Will displaying Lyndon Johnson’s character is the following words from LBJ “What we wanted to do for the country is what we did… I really wanted a country where the Congress and the Government would provide education for every kid from Head Start to adult education by ’75, and we got those going…This is what I wanted to see done in Civil Rights and this is what we have done about it.
One of the most popular factors attributed to the success of the First Crusade was the deep religious conviction of the first crusaders. They believed that their cause was just, and that God was behind it. This staunch conviction bolstered their efforts to the extent in which they engaged and defeated formidable opponents such as the Egyptians, defying all logical calculation and reasoning. The religious zeal of the crusaders could also have given them the strength to endure and overcome the miserable conditions they found themselves in, sieges and disease. Another reason why the First Crusade was successful was because of its efficient leadership.
October 4, 2010 Hrafnkel’s Saga The maxim, pride comes before fall, is eminent in Hrafnkel’s Saga. It seems that everyone in the main plot regard pride as a top virtue in life. To these people their pride and their word is all they truly have in life. Their word means a lot to them and they will stand by it forever, so when people go against their word and do things they agree to not do the others believe that justice should be paid to that person who went against their word. Such as when Einar went against his word to Hrafnkel, Hrafnkel murdered Einar for something as little as riding Hrafnkel’s horse.
Mark Sharktier Smitch AP Lang February 26th, 2013 AP Write 2: Alfred M. Green A true lover of his country, Alfred M. Green believes in the true equality of all men. This vexing persuasion brings forth the power in his statements. By demonstrating true patriotism, religion, family, Green generates motivation that is felt by all. His diction adds a powerful factor in persuading his audience, and the ideas he demonstrates accurately portray his vast knowledge. Green commences his attack my immediately mentioning the backbone of American principles, “...who hearts burns the love of country, of freedom, and of civil and religious toleration.” This instills desire into African Americans to strive in favor of fighting the Civil War, to protect their rights as African Americans and as people.
Martin on the other hand taught an ideology of love and unity. As quoted after a trip to India where he met with Gandhi he said, "Since being in India, I am more convinced than ever before that the method of nonviolent resistance is the most potent weapon available to oppressed people in their struggle for justice and human dignity. In a real sense, Mahatma Gandhi embodied in his life certain universal principles that are inherent in the moral structure of the universe, and these principles are as inescapable as the law of gravitation." (Wikipedia) Martin used this ideology as a base for his movement and the way to go about it. From this he worked toward his dream, a dream which was for a world without segregation and equality amongst the races.
The Heroes When the subject of war and US troops rises to the surface, people have plenty to say about it. The most trending view however is that the troops are heroes; the view is that citizens should have the upmost respect and gratitude for all they do, and it is easy to see why. The public always hears about the valiant acts these young warriors have selflessly committed, or the tragic death tolls and incidents that have cost one of the soldiers their lives, or the actions these noble fighters have accomplished. Society has always been taught to praise and honor these combatants in camo. America has days to pay respect these gallant heroes; all that the public is taught is that they lay their life down every day for our freedom and that we must have nothing but admiration towards them.
Yet very embarrassed, Case was still very proud of his team for confidently taking a stand and getting their point across. The protest resulted in angry alumni letters and checks, warm showers, and a wide spread reach for equality across the nation based off of Title
