Edna St. Vincent Millay was born in Rockland, Maine on February 22, 1892. Her parents got a divorce in the 1900s when Edna was eight years old. Her father was a teacher and had a gambling problem. Edna lived with her mom and her sisters; Norma, and Kathleen live in a bad area. Her mom was a nurse trying to help the family.

X Malcolm Little was born on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska at a very young age lost his father, Earl Little an outspoken Baptist minister and avid supporter of Black Nationalist Leather Markus Garvey. Earl’s civil rights activism prompted death threats from the white supremacist organization Black Legion. Because of the threats his family received, they had to move to Lansing, Michigan and in 1929 his home was burned to the ground. Two years later his father’s body was found across the towns trolley tracks. His mother Louise Norton Little was a homemaker, suffered emotional breakdown because of her husband’s horrible death and was committed to a mental institution.

Her mother was not happy with her husband’s success as a lawyer. Amelia’s father, Edwin, remarried and had her little sister.
Jean Louise “Scout” Finch is at that time six years old growing up in Maycomb, Alabama. Scout lived with her dad “Atticus Finch” and her brother “Jeremy Atticus “Jem” Finch”, Scout’s mom died when Scout was two and Jem was six years. During the summer when Scout was six and Jem was ten, they met a young boy named Dill who was spending the summer with his aunt who lived next door to the Finches. Dill and Jem became curious about, their reclusive neighbor Boo Radley, that they made it their mission to get him to come out of his home.
