Issue Debbie is aware of her Schizophrenia and is required to take medication. Debbie purposely discontinues her medication which causes her to experience delusional and somewhat violent reactions to situations. Debbie’s first interaction with her neighbor Mark resulted in her stating “I know your out to get me and I am going to get you first”. The second interaction Debbie initiates with Mark results in Mark injuring his head as he dives out of the way of Debbie’s bicycle as she rides deliberately towards him and veers away at the last second. By discontinuing her medication Debbie put herself at risk of experiencing violent and delusionary episodes, which result in attacks on her neighbors. A week after discontinuing her medication Debbie had an un-provoked interaction with Mark, which resulted in her stating “I know your out to get me and I am going to get you first”. Two days after the first encounter Debbie noticed Mark outside again and rode her bicycle directly toward Mark and at the last second turned away causing Mark to dive out of the way striking his head against the curb suffering a concussion and other facial injuries. In the first encounter Debbie attacked verbally and also gestured threateningly. A threatening gesture in itself can be considered an assault due to the volitional movement of any part of the body. In the second encounter Debbie intentionally rode her bicycle in the direction of Mark as to make Mark feel she was going to run into him. Debbies volitional movement here was her legs propelling the pedals of the bicycle and her arms turning the handlebars in the direction of Mark.
