For similarities they both have love but they both gain it and lose it. For example hitch losses sarah and ben losses andie. They both also find love in an odd way but it happens. For example how albert falls for alegra and how both andie and ben fall for each other even though they did each other wrong. Some of the differences were how it happened like in hitch it was because sarahs friend got screwed over and she blamed the date doctor.
Daniel felt guilt and remorse while he was in jail and It was just a mistake that couldn’t be undone. A longer sentence wouldn’t bring back the lives of the dead. Longer jail sentence wouldn’t have achieved justice. The town of Mumbilli had lost the two loved teenagers while one was in serious condition. The Brennan’s were a well-respected family in the town but the action of Daniel left the feeling of hatred for the family.” The town of Mumbilli was bleeding.” The town was extremely affected by the accident.
Jewel’s Love Throughout all of As I Lay Dying, we see Jewel as the Bundren with apparently the most violent nature. He was constantly arguing and disagreeing with the other members of the family as they made the journey to Jefferson to bury his mother Addie. It wasn’t until the end of the trip that you really take a look in-depth at what kind of impact Jewel had on his family. We really start to notice through his random acts of courage and kindness that he is a valued member of the Bundren family. It proves that Jewel had only the best intentions and did everything in the best interest for the family.
He is mostly always inappropriate with words, very blunt, and hurtful with others. This seems to be a defense mechanism for him to shut out the world around him and not be bothered. Whether this is due to him not wanting friends or just the fear of someone messing with his very particular life, is not known for the positive but I would side with the "schedule." I see Jack depressed as well, though he tries to hide that also. It becomes quite obvious that Jack has OCD and it has literally consumed his entire life but, Jack makes it look and seem normal he's been at it so long.
As both Danforth and the judges oppress over him, Proctor cannot bring himself to sign, and ultimately leads himself to his own death. “How may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; leave me my name!” (Miller 133) In saying this, Proctor emphasizes the emotional strain which people were brought under during the trials. The reluctancy of Proctor to sign away his name allows him to make a much greater impact on the trials, and ultimately serve as a martyr against the corrupt system. The belief that people should not have to lie is one which comes up a lot in Proctor’s life.
That’s how it must be for Charlie, ever since he regressed. The whole experiment failed and he is the one who paid the biggest price. He will always look back at his previous progress report and look at his grammar and how much he knew. Now he can’t even use normal everyday vocabulary. He will always remember how much he once loved Miss Kinnian so much and now he can’t even talk to her right without having her cry.
The strong were the ones who caught the eyes of employers, and the strong were the ones who were able to provide for their family and move up in the world. The book shows many examples of the weak dying or falling into a horrible world of drugs, crime, and completely breaking. The only ones who survive in the world of competitive jobs are the
The final separation is Tom being separated from himself, having everyone else run his life, telling him what to do and how, not giving him his own freedom. Both Odysseus and Tom have their fair share of separations from, loss of loyalty, to deaths of loved ones, but they both get passed these road blocks and life and have to face new problems so they can achieve what they are
Night: Passage Analysis Troubling thoughts consumed young Elie because he saw the ways in which father-son relationships are torn asunder by the camps. He watches as sons deny—or at least consider denying—care to their fathers, putting their own interests before their loved ones. Elie struggles with the same conflict when his father becomes ill, and when his father finally dies, Elie is profoundly sad though also proud that he never wholly compromised his own beliefs about family. The reason that Elie finds the deterioration of father-son relationships so painful is that the maintenance of this relationship seems to be the last barrier between a world that is semi-normal and one that has completely been turned upside down. Elie must continue
Dying," Morrie suddenly said, "is only one thing to be sad over, Mitch. Living unhappily is something else. So many of the people who come to visit me are unhappy." (35) I think this quote means that dying is one thing, but if you live your whole life unhappy then you will never appreciate what have you accomplished. Yes, Morrie was dying but was happy with his accomplishments.
