To begin, here is some background on the gangs that will be discussed. One gang that has grown rapidly throughout the years in New Jersey is the Bloods. The Bloods are an African-American gang that started in Los Angeles, California. The primary reason why the Bloods are so huge and notorious today is because they wanted to compete against the intimidation and rivalry of the Crips. It all started when the Pirus, a set underneath the Crips, separated during an internal gang war.
Blooded In, but Never Blooded Out Crippin’ Crips How the Crips First Started In Los Angeles Raymond Washington initially called the gang, “Baby Avenues.” His Goal was to carry out activities like the Black Panthers. Cofounder Stanely Tookie Williams started his own “West-Side Crips” Plan to recreate Blank Panther, “Social change” went astray because of hatred from others, and obsession with protecting himself. By 1971 well known and spread across Los Angeles, Began to terrorize other gangs to show dominance This is when gangs revolutionized from respect OGs to modern day “chumps” Began to wear blue as emblem. (RULES) Piru Street Boys, Bloods Powerful Gang in Compton, CA. Created in 1971 as Piru Street Boys, for short while Piru St. Crips.
In “crips and bloods-made in America” it shows how there is a war in south central. And it shows us how this all first started was when Kumasi an African American boy got rejected from being in the boy scouts. Because they were all white, therefore he decided to make his own group or club. And after they started making their group other groups rose. But at those times they would just box or fight with each other but it was just a competition.
My little brother who is 8 years younger than me was into playing every kind of gangster rap he could listen to and it drove me crazy. It is not to say that I did not like some of the artist like Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Dr Dre, Snoop Dog, Ice Tea, and Ice Cube just to name a few of the artist that’s music did not bother me the most even though sometimes that could be course with their words. Here are some of the Difference In "Rap" And "Hip Hop"? “"Rap music" and "hip hop culture" are roughly synonymous in the minds of many Americans, though there are differences. Hip hop was originally a combination of rap, DJing, breakdancing and "tagging", which was the hip hop name for producing graffiti.
These sets forming together resulted in a rivalry that stretched to higher-up affiliations between the rival gang alliances People Nation (Blood affiliation) and Folk Nation (Crip affiliation) which started in the Chicago area but has spread all over the United States. There are estimated to be up to 20,000 Blood members and Blood gang activity has been reported in 123 cities and 33 states. Although the gang was initially formed as protection against the higher numbered Crip gang, the Bloods objectives are similar to other street gangs such as obtaining capital and control over territory against enemies, and will act violently to secure it. The problem we face with street gangs such as the Bloods is the increase in numbers and the spread to rural/upcoming areas. The criminal activity tied to these gangs bring negative effects to places that may not have seen gang activity previously, such as more crime and poverty, drug abuse, illegal immigrants, etc.

Feeling defeated, and probably angry Malcolm’s intentions to further his education were tarnished. He morphed into a new identity known as “Detroit Red” and committed numerous small crimes and this same recklessness eventually had him convicted and sentenced for eight to ten years in jail around 1946. His siblings sent him letters while Malcolm was in Charleston State Prison and became interested in the Nation of Islam. Malcolm then contacted Elijah Mohammed who was known, as the leader of the group and while The Nation of Islam wasn’t mainstream Islam, but a spin-off version where other African Americans wanted to follow some of the Muslim’s ideals or practices. For the first time Malcolm felt like he belonged somewhere with a new identity and purpose in life.
Young black males began forming their own groups, clubs where they could find a sense of belonging. Fighting between rival clubs became part of that culture, but the only weapons then were a strong pair of fists. Theoretical Application: The Bloods and Crips are two of South Los Angeles' most notorious African-American gangs. While many outsiders simply cannot understand the decades-long cycle of despair and destruction that has come to define their daily lives, the individuals who comprise each gang are not simply mindless, gun-toting thugs, but real people with real families who have become caught up in a struggle from which the only escape is often death. Beginning with an illuminating look at the genesis
So in order for me to do that, I will do research the on origin of this epidemic. Young black men have always had a prominent place in American society, good and bad. This centrality far too often was a reflection of fear and a desire for dominance. It is also the result of enormous talent, skill, and success. For example, all Thurgood Marshall, Colin Powell, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Ben Carson came up from a poor upbringing.
The Tuskegee Airmen During the 1920's and 1930's in the United States, segregation for the black Americans was rampant. Blacks were being turned away from certain restaurants, and ones they were allowed in had a separate seating section. Blacks had to sit in the back of the bus. They had to use separate bathrooms and go to all-black schools. This translated to the military machine as well.
