If a woman chooses not to seek medical attention for her unborn child, is that not the same as a mother not seeking medical attention for her baby’s aliment? In fact I believe it is and we as a society consider that negligence. So we must decide that a fetus is not a part of the mother’s body but a person, and that her right to freedom of choice must be weighed against the fetus’s right to be born in a healthy state. Against: Are we as a society ready to demand more of an expectant mother than anyone else? If we are sincerely committed to equality then the answer must be no.
Therefore, there are many couples for some reason or another that cannot conceive children. They would have no chance for a child without the adoption process. There are also single adults that have not met the perfect person to marry or be with, but they are ready to love and raise a child. Another type of parents who would benefit from adopting is gay people. Gay people cannot have a baby by themselves.
“Abortion is the intentional termination of a pregnancy after conception. It allows women to put an end to their pregnancies, but involves killing the undeveloped embryo or fetus. For this reason, it is a very controversial subject in American politics” (Tom Head, 2012: 1). In my opinion, there should not be a Constitutional amendment banning abortion. A woman should have the right to abort her baby for any reason that she feels necessary.
1. I do not think that aborting pregnancies that would result in a child born with a severe birth defect(s) should be permitted at any time in prenatal development. Parents who decide not to terminate the disabled fetus may actually come to love their disabled child, as the Brancas in the article, A Wrongful Birth. Many families do not realize that a disabled child can have just as much an impact as a child prodigy (Weil, 2006). A.J.’s parents are a testimonial to the impact a disabled child can have on the family.
On the other hand, Katha Pollit is arguing in What's Wrong with Gay Marriage? That there is a shortage of families willing to adopt abounded and disadvantaged children. Most gay couples if they wanted to raise a child would adopt one; this is beneficial to society as a whole and the child. Rather than having to grow up in children's home and being shipped around from institution to institution the child would be put in a loving home. Second, the population growth rate of the world is fast outpacing the capacity of the earth.
Many people believe life begins at conception, others believe life doesn’t begin until the baby is born. When people believe in abortion they’re pro-choice, when they don’t believe in abortion its pro-life. There is no way to say either one is right or wrong as a fact because abortion is against the law. Or should it be? A babies heart begins beating just after 21 days after conception, many abortions happen much after that.
Abortion just isn't right at all, you should have the baby and make sure that you don't want it. Now if you don't want the baby at all you should really think about putting it up for adoption, to make that the baby gets a chance to live an experience the life you got. You really need to think about the situation and not think that you need to have an abortion right away just because you just didn't think about the whole situation that you put yourself in. I just feel that if you don't want the baby you just really need to put it up for adoption that is the next best thing besides keeping it for yourself. Adoption in my opinion should just be illegal in every state because you are just taking a harmless baby's life for no reason, the baby didn't ask you to make it.
The next choice was closed adoption. I would not be able to be a part of my son’s life. The adoption agency would choose the family and after birth I would not know anything more. I would always wonder what my son was doing, what does he look like, and is he okay? I did not want my son to think that I just gave him away because I did not love him or want him.
The baby doesn’t have any choice or could do anything when the mother decide to abort. I believe abortion is wrong because it is a selfish reason and committing baby’s right. The first reason why abortion is wrong because someone believe the fetus is not a child yet because in a first few week of pregnancy, the fetus cannot talk or do what we do so there is no human life. They have a million reasons to justify
Brock McKee English 1113 Dr. Hayes 11-1-11 Adoption Adoption is something that may not mean much to some, but to others it means everything. The dictionary defines the word adopt as: to take over as if it were one’s own, in most cases this refers to an adult taking over a child as if it were their own. Taking a child as your own means so much more than just that. When a person takes a child as their own they are giving that child more than they will ever know. Throughout the world today there are an astounding number of orphaned children, and the only way to solve this problem is for more people to step up to the plate and adopt children.
