Even though there is statistical data available from statistical surveys we are still stuck with stereotypical conclusions and misconceptions about men who rape. Part of the reason is because behavioral scientists have not studied such individuals. Rapists are not known to self-refer themselves to clinics, hospitals, or private services. Also, those who are identified to the result of imprisonment and conviction either do not appreciate that their behavior is inappropriate or fear that revealing their concerns to someone will lead to them being locked up in prison or a mental hospital. Because of the absence of such knowledge of the offender, the nature of their behavior is misconstrued and misinterpreted.
Weekly Position Paper #1 Equality in the Justice System Although many researchers have found biological reasoning toward many serial killings, it is no reason to justify serial killers’ acts and harm onto society. It is believed that many serial killers are perceived to have a mental disorder of some kind, causing them to enact in murders without feeling any guilt or concern over their actions. Jack Pemment’s “What Would We Find Wrong in the Brain of a Serial Killer?” depicts the mental disorders: Atisocial Personailty Disorder (APD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Narcisstic Personality Disorder (NPD) and schizophrenia in the order from most recognized to least. All four have the common characteristic that serial killers are biologically affected mentally, which affects their lack of emotional reaction or empathy as far as their knowing of good from bad, right from wrong. Researchers and scientists have diagnosed four types of symptoms and their characteristics, but just because many serial
The Mind of a Serial Killer To explain the phenomenon of a serial killer is an impossible task. The mind of a killer is unique, and so different from other types of killers. My Article on serial killers is written by Barbara C. Wolf and Wendy A. Lavezzi. The title of the article is, “Paths to Destruction: The Lives and Crimes of Two Serial Killers*” and it describes the thoughts behind a serial killer. The article is published by Forensic Science in January 2007 volume number 52.
Ruth and Idgie and Ruth were watching from the bridge. Idgie was Buddy’s younger sister and they were very close. Idgie started screaming. Idgie did not handle the death well, she was close to her brother and it was a sudden death. “A number of studies suggest that survivors of those who die sudden deaths, especially young survivors, have a more difficult time than people with advance warning.” (P60 Worden) It was a very traumatic death as well; she had to watch and was not able to help him.
For example, when Ted Bundy was asked why he took Polaroid’s of his victims, he said, “when you work hard to do something, you don’t want to forget it.” -There are six phases of the serial killer’s cycle: 1) the Aura Phase, where the serial killer begins losing a grip on reality; 2) the Trolling Phase, when the killer searches for a victim; 3) the Wooing Phase, where the killer lures his victim in; 4) the Capture Phase, where the victim is entrapped; 5) the Murder or Totem phase, which is the emotion high for the killer and, finally, 6) the Depression phase, which occurs after the killing. -Most psychiatrists note that psychopaths cannot be successfully treated. -Men constitute the overwhelming preponderance of serial killers, at over 90%. -While women make up just a very small percentage of serial killers, they constitute the majority of victims: 65%. -The motives of serial killers

The Tragedy of Child Abuse A Child Called "It" is a real life story about a boy brutally beaten and starved by his mentally disturbed and alcoholic mother. Dave Pelzer was the third-born of five children (Ronald, Stan, Russell, and Kevin). His father was a firefighter and, according to Dave, his mother was originally a loving, kind, and wonderful person. This all changed when his mother began drinking and eventually became an alcoholic. Even though advocates against child abuse work diligently every day to put an end to child abuse, it is tragic because child abuse can cause physical and emotional distress along with many other factors and child abuse can lead to developmental issues and detachment from others.
Per 02-22-13 Compare/contrast essay Two Psychopathic Serial Killers Edward Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer are two of the most infamous American serial killers and they can both be identified as psychopaths. A psychopath is someone who’s suffering from a chronic mental disorder, with abnormal and/or violent social behavior. These serial murderers intrigue me because I can’t fathom committing such heinous crimes and never showing any remorse. Even though Gein and Dahmer share striking similarities in their personalities and crimes, they are also totally different people: born and raised into much different family lifestyles and each had some different life experiences. Could it be possible that Gein and Dahmer were born this way?

Wives get sad when they do not get to see their husbands.
