The sentence structure, the affluent use of diction, the imagery and the personification of the passage allows a vivid connection between the wind and Ellen’s cry. The imagery allows a parallel with the character’s emotion as well, and contributes to the dark atmosphere at the manger. All these add to the mood and aid the reader to connect with Paul’s desperation and emotional

These areas are very small, but both of the breaks in the branches move inward at a diagonal, creating a triangle that points to the young couple, the young woman in particular. The way her arms are up over her head also creates another shape of a triangle, which is continued through Daphnis’ back down into the bottom right corner, and on the other end, follows the line of the rock upon which she is seated into the bottom left. The entire composition creates movement that all draws the eye towards the center, where Chloe sits gazing down at Daphnis. The geometric shapes, colors, and placements also give the painting a good sense of balance. After
This piece of art work is of a woman dressed in black cape and dress. The women's arms are folded in a way that makes her look pregnant. This portrait is composed of light and dark colors. The top proportion of the painting is light but as you go lower the painting gets darker. The emphasis is at the face of the woman.
The color variation is limiting, the artist used green, red, and brown, yellow, black and white. However the painting does have great patter and rhythm, for we are able to see the repetition of the lilies and their stems, the shape of the stems follow the shape of the native girls waits
The sound effects, presented in the form of instruments playing in the background help create the mood for the particular scene. It helps draw the attention of the audience as it is rhythmic and intense. The landscape shown in the scene is outstanding as it represents the situation in Texas in 1868. The woman trying to view outside has intense facial expressions as she seems to be straining to see further in the fields. The introduction of her companion creates suspense for the viewer as one wonders what the two could be trying to figure out from further into the fields.
Sarah Bratton Bryan Wheeler ARTS1301 – Art Appreciation 23 September 2012 A Females Beauty in “Grande Odalisque” The artwork of French Artist Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres titled “Grande Odalisque” was painted on an oil canvas in 1814. On close examination it is easy to see many elements and principles of art and feminist mode of analysis, which helps present the beauty of a female body. Ingres’ portrays several elements and principles of art in his painting of a nude female to display his desire towards a female’s beauty. When examining his artwork, the viewer is directly drawn to the woman’s long back. This is the focal point of the artwork, since it is a lighter shade than the rest of the image, and it is the biggest proportion to the piece.
It is a long shot, which allows the audience to see the setting of the scene, which further emphasises the fact that this character is portrayed as royalty, with the stained glass and large carved pillars. Also the lighting of this scene shows the peoples impressions of her, from the sun shining through the stained glass, which can portray as royal and higher class and also how the people of the kingdom see her. Although she is presented as royalty, she has specifically been costumed with light skin and dark hair which connotes that this character isn’t what she seems, almost being cold inside which can represent her being evil. The non diegetic sound of a choir singing in the background can represent the high class of the character, due to the thick texture of the music, and the type of instruments used such as, full orchestra, which is mainly associated with the upper class as they are expensive instruments. There is a sweep round sound effect added to the clip of the scene which can represent the danger, which can imply to the audience that something bad might happen, which also creates tension between the two characters.
Welty illustrates this concept with her use of symbolism, dialogue, and conflict of the characters. Right at the beginning of the story, we are introduced to the protagonist, Phoenix Jackson. Here, already, Welty has given her a name of symbolic meaning. The name Phoenix is symbolic of an ancient Egyptian myth about a sacred bird that burned itself by flying to the sun, rose from the dead, and was reborn. Likewise, Phoenix Jackson is described as an elderly woman who is old and wrinkly, but has a golden hue to her skin which is reminiscent of the ancient bird’s feathers.
The shading is similar to a storm moving forward and darkening the area. In the middle of the ad it shows Kelly Preston is wearing a black tube dress that shows off her shoulders and hugs her figure. The dress also shows off her cleavage. Her hair is off her face in a wild wavy, sexy way to show that she can have fun. Her make up seems to be going to the more natural direction, in that there aren’t that many colors, just something simple any person can wear on a day to day basis.
