The consumption of high fructose corn syrup is affecting our health. Corn syrup has a high in sugar, which will develop into Type 2 diabetes within time.

Suzy Woodell Johnston 6/7 In Class Write Analysis: Introduction December 14, 2011 In the book Fast Food Nation by investigative journalist Eric Schlosser, he introduces his thoughts full speed ahead and gives many facts and commentary to make the reader agree with his point of view that fast food is indeed a horrible trend right now in society. Schlosser’s intent in this section is to make the audience sit back and realize just how terrible fast food is and its effects on our world today. Schlosser discusses that even young, adolescent children are drawn so firmly towards the industry, “a survey of American school children found that 96 percent could identify Ronald McDonald. The only fictional character with a higher degree of recognition was Santa Claus. The golden arches are now more widely recognized than the Christian cross” (Schlosser 4-5).
Greg Crister writes in “Too Much of a Good Thing,” that many baby boomer parents believe that children are able to distinguish when they are full and have the right to make bad decisions about what they eat. “That may be true” according to Crister but he argues that in a world that billions of dollars are spent to attract kids and their families to enjoy a greasy fast food, its not always the best choice to let children decide. We can see that the House of Seven Gables is affect by the Pyncheon curse by the looks of the Pyncheon chickens that live on the grounds of the mansion. It is here that we are told that the Pyncheon chickens that have lived on the grounds of the House of the Seven Gables since it was first built were once fat and thick, and were the resemblance of the Pyncheon family. But we now see and are told that two hundred years later these same descendants of the chickens that were once fat and thick are now very small and stupid and are the resemblance of how the Pyncheon family is now a days. The more a certain food is processed, the more mal nourished it becomes and, in turn, the more unhealthy it is. The problem with the American population is our eating habits have become accustom to these fatty, salty, and sugary items and it is why we crave and enjoy them. From the farm to the grocery store, the processing of food diminishes its nutritional value to nothing, sabotaging the American diet so far in diet related disease and obesity, our nation has become a slave to chemically altered foods.
I can't remember if what I ate for breakfast let alone what I did in elementary. I know I have the basics but I thought that's what the CSTs are for. Lots of kids know the topics in the CAHSEE but are horrible test takers so it messes them up. I think the CAHSEE should be taken off the table. Maybe it could be in the end of middle school.
