Pollution consists of little wastes and every little bit of waste counts. A great example of this ‘little’ piece, but can greatly affect the environment, are eggshells. Eggshell came from eggs which are said to be the universal ingredient in cooking, thus we use it in our daily life. However, most people immediately throw eggshells after getting their yolks and whites without knowing that these eggshells can be very useful and can be turned into so many usable forms that can help economic crisis and lessen the pollution in the environment, such as chalk. Eggshells can be recycled in a number of useful ways around the house, garden, or even in school. The researchers found out that many people are in need of chalk especially those teachers and students. They usually use commercial chalks bought from the stores. James (2011) of “9 Great Ways To Recycle Eggshells” stated that some people are moving away from commercial products in favor of more natural alternatives. There is no assurance that people can have continuous supply of a commercial chalk that is why in this study; researchers tried to find a better, affordable and more convenient way of producing chalk which is equal in quality to commercial chalk.
