It seems like everywhere you go all you see is everyone on their Smartphone most likely checking their Facebook. Social networks are for everyone, from the ripe to the green. Many people feel that staying constantly socially connected to Facebook or Twitter is unavoidable and even necessary in today’s society. There has been an explosion in the growth of these web sites and it has changed the way people communicate ,and even conduct business and the way we receive our news. Social networking sites allow people to improve their relationships and make new friends. This is helpful if you’re really shy or there is a big distance between you and your family or Friends. Social networking sites help senior citizens feel more connected to society. According to a Internet Life Project study, the 74-year old and older age group is the fastest growing age group on social media sites with the percentage quadrupling, from 4% to 16%. Seniors report feeling happier because of online contact with family and access to information like church bulletins and newspapers that have moved online and out of print. Shy teens say that social networking helps them feel less shy, and report feeling more outgoing, and they say feel more confident. Corporations and small businesses use social media to benefit themselves and consumers. Small businesses benefit greatly from the free advertising. Connecting with customers using Photos’ of their products or services. Almost all of big companies using social media have reported "at least one measurable business benefit." For example, big chain restaurants are using social media to quickly inform managers of changes, train employees, and receive immediate customer feedback on new items, allowing for quick changes if needed.
