4. Use Table 4.3 to identify cultural differences that are likely to arise between Elektrobit employees working in Germany and the United States. How might these differences affect impersonal interactions, and what can the company do to reduce any untended confict from these differences? Based on the passage and Table 4.3, there are few cultural differences that are likely to arise between Elektrobit employees working in Germany and the United Stated. We were told that in America, they are very fond of technology and they barely see anybody or pick up the phone to call them. This is totally different compare to Germany. In Europe, Germany, they like to talk face-to-face and having conversations at a desk or in the hallway is very important. These differences will affect their impersonal interactions. To reduce this untended confict, this two companies need to make an agreement to continue to have the discussion face-to-face but the discussion will be follow up with an email. Using this method, both side will be satisfied and there will be no problem for them to work. Based on the Table 4.3, we can see that United States are the highest in the performance orientation on the cultural dimension. This is because the United States company will make sure their employees have whatever they need to start working efficiently on arrival. They also tried to help the employees settle into their everyday lives outside work. To solve this problem, the Germany company should do the same thing. They should help their employees if they need help. Ask them how’s their day and if they need anything.
