English 121 The purpose of this essay is to determine what superhero power I would choose if I could have a superhero power. Would I choose invisibility or flying? I think I would benefit the most from flying. This could prove to be very life changing in that it could help to remedy some of life’s current time constraint issues. Having the ability to fly would really come in handy when I needed to get somewhere quick. When I think about superhero’s that can fly, my first thought goes to Superman. He could fly and was noted to be faster than a speeding bullet. Then there are those who really had no powers to fly but had some type of vehicle to fly in. Wonder Woman had the invisible plane, Batman had his Bat plane, and the XMEN had a jet for those who could not fly. It appears that getting to “there” quickly is of the essence to these superheroes and it is also very important to me. I know that my life will change drastically because I will no longer have to wait in long lines and pay the exorbitant fees that it costs to get on an airplane, the insane traffic that I encounter each and every morning on my way to work will be eliminated, and the long distance barriers that currently separate my son and I will be essentially non-existent. With this superpower I will be able to fly to any part of the country or any part of the world at will. I can get there and be back without having to worry about going through customs or ensuring I have a passport. When it’s time for me to go to work, I can fly high above the traffic and not worry about car accidents, stalled vehicles or people who drive at a snails pace. One of the greatest gifts this power will give me is the ability to see my oldest child who spends his time living in two places, Japan and California.
