The father was an successful accountaint, the mother was a home keeper and the son did well in school. In the beginning of the book the narrator describes seeing her mom digging through a trash can and then decides to have lunch with her. All of this talking with her mom makes her remember the horrible childhood she went through. When she was three years old her mom wasn’t watching her while letting her cook hotdogs. She ended up catching her dress on fire and had to be hospitalized for six days. Her dad took her away from the hospital without paying and soon after her mom was letting her cook again, as she called it, “Getting right back into the saddle.” At such a young age Jeannette didn’t take any anger out on her parents and soon took interest to fire.
All of suddenly, Audrey stop making regularly contact with her mother. Joyce had attempted to get in touch with her daughter in any way she could. but all she got from her daughter was suspicious behaviors and a simple response “ will write later. Don't worry”. Condensed Review of the Novel: “Nobody's Child” is a book about a family's experience during the time of amnesty and deportation of Armenians in the early 1900's for Turkish gain. The main character, Mariam, and her siblings and parents journey across the country to search for work only to be put in more danger than they would have been if they stayed at home. Mariam and her siblings meet some friends along the way which is about as much family as they'll ever have again, however, they are all ungratefully separated as the book goes on and the Turks try to win power over the Armenians.
