As many educators know, discipline and management are central to effective schools. All teachers are responsible, as professionals, for managing discipline in their classrooms. Administrators and educators have a responsibility to ensure that they provide an effective curriculum delivered in a safe and secure environment and this cannot be achieved without the effective management of discipline. Any behavior that challenges a child’s ability to learn should be managed. Effective management of discipline does not just happen; it requires consultation, planning, commitment, and constant review and evaluation.
Students must feel safe and secure in their class in order to learn and grow in education. In order to control these types of behaviors the teacher must first recognize the misbehavior and handle it in a professional manner from the onset. Students learn from example as much as from example. Teacher set the example. They can do this by putting a stop to the disruption and using it as a learning experience for all the other students.
For a teacher their way of communicating is formal. Teachers use speaking or verbal communication to help their pupils understand. This is by explaining what they have to do or what they require. By doing this the pupils will gain understanding or what they have to do or what they require. Adding to this, the pronunciation of their words has to be clear, loud, and slow insuring their pupils understand what they have to do without any problems whatsoever.
Establish a few firm rules that are easy to remember and include the class in establishing these rules. When they are challenged, it should be addressed immediately. This will assist your students in knowing that you are in charge. Always be consistent with your classes. The students should know exactly what to expect from you and feel comfortable in knowing that you are always going to be consistent.
An educator should constantly be revising lesson plans and expanding their own knowledge in order to deliver an optimal learning experience for the students. Incorporating guidelines to educate students without bias into a code of ethics ensures that students receive equal treatment in the classroom. An educator’s primary concern should be the physical and mental well being of the student. This being said, it is the responsibility of the educator to be vigilant of a student’s physical and emotional behavior while in the classroom. Child abuse is a dilemma that may be encountered when working as a professional educator in the school system.
Well in my opinion each person will have his or her own opinion about that answer. I believe an effective classroom is when things transition from one routine to the other smoothly with no disruption. An effective classroom needs rules and organization, in order for the classroom to be successful. Rules are statements of a teacher’s expectation for each student’s behavior in the classroom. A teacher needs certain expectations; (specific behaviors or outcomes) in order for the classroom to run smoothly.
