“Traffic deaths from drunken driving have fallen steadily, with those involving teenagers 16 to 19 declining by 39.1 percent from 1982 to 1990, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)”. (Clark, 1992). Even though drinking and driving is a crime thousands of teens continue to get behind the wheel and kill thousands of innocent people in alcohol related crashes every year. There are drunken accidents because teens don’t take drinking and driving seriously. Teens just want to feel the pleasure and they want to feel good but don’t think about the other people or even there selves that they can kill on the road.

Teens that are homeless do not do drugs, most of them are homeless because they were either; too old for foster care, were force to leave their house due economic problems, or left from and abusive and neglect home, or were fired from their job. Most people out there misjudge the homeless as the stereotype homeless people which are the ones who do drugs and everything else. In the second video of “Homeless: A Teen Perspective,” some teens can get back on their feet and get out of their struggle of being homeless by going back to school and find job. Just like Elisabeth Murry, she was homeless when she was in her teens, her parents did drugs and she watched her parents do drugs, she had to find a way to feed herself at an early age.

If we are lowering the age of drinking to 18 then many high school student will be freely start drinking and go to the club and spend the money. They have not started to earn, so they are going to spend the money of their parents. In the USA children after age 18 should start to earn by themselves, so if they spend the money in the alcohol then their parents are not going to support them. In the contrast, opposing people say that how can lowering the age affect the education. The children of the other country are not having any problem with the education.

Students may drink on Friday and Saturday and still be clean if they were to get tested that Monday. This could raise the statistics on alcohol abuse and alcoholics. Teenagers are determined; they will find any way they can to continue doing what they like to do. It is not the school’s responsibility to stop them or change them; it is the parents’. Random student drug testing is also actually angering parents and caregivers.

Unfortunately, many teens turn to the wrong source to get their remiss. Youths seek comfort from those who welcome them, but sometimes they end up turning to street gangs or even just bad company just to feel accepted.
