People are social beings. We are products of our social environments. Even though we are puppets, we are also puppeteers.
I am currently studying sociology and discovering how much of an impact my self image has in society. The learning skills I have acquired so far in my studies play a major role in my career. The strengths I posses that I can bring into my career is that I am optimistic and have a pleasant demeanor, I am capable of multi-tasking and detail oriented. Having experience in the use of technology is a great asset with the changing ways that offices correspond and communicate in today’s world. P1: Use sociological terminology to explain the principal sociological perspectives In this essay I will be discussing different aspects of sociological perspectives in society. I will be mentioning three main sociological perspective; Functionalism, Marxists , The New Right and Feminism and their views on the family, the education system and gender etc. Functionalists Functionalists are positive about society. They generalise their ideas to the whole of society. For example they look at what education does for society as a whole not just certain people in society.
I also got a 27 for social . That puts me at teaching. Also 22 for enterprising, that means that I like to starting up and carrying out projects. I know that I will have to work on self-control. I can try and take over a lot of things.
Sometimes different is good, that is what makes the world a giant melting pot of diversity. Now knowing exactly what type of personality I have is a great asset to have because, I now know what are the strengths and weaknesses I have in my personality. Maybe there is a way I can work on these weaknesses to make myself a better person. Working socially is a good start; I can share my strengths with people around me from my personality. As well as for an education point of view this will help me as far as connecting myself with people that have similar personalities as me.

Possessing a sociological imagination allows us the ability to look beyond our local environment and personality to a wider social structure. C. With this new understanding, I began to notice the daily choices I make. From the classes that I take, the sports I participate in, the way I dress, the music I enjoy and the group of people I associate with. These are all somehow affected by public issues and what society tends to make us believe is right.
As a student in this Sociology class I have learned many things pertaining to the social issues involved within today’s societies around the world. This sociology class has helped me in understanding what goes on in our world when it deals with individuals, and the social issues that comes with living in certain parts of the world, as well as looking deeper into the types of environments that makes up a societies, customs, beliefs, and social norms. A deeper understanding of society around me has made me more open minded on what to expect when a social issue comes into play, as well as trying to understand and break down the social issue itself.
