“The institutions traditionally procure, provide and control the technology for learning but now students are acquiring their own personal technologies for learning and institutions are challenged to keep pace” (Research in Technology Learning, 2010). Computers and other technical devices that are being used to enhance student learning helps to make teaching more creative and effective; however, it has also caused a lot of confusion and chaos in regards to ethics. Once teachers only had to be concerned about the basic rules of classroom etiquette and they could govern their classroom visually. An example of this could be setting an activity for the class to play a maths related online computer game and then to write an evaluation using a word processing package. The learners will be give a printed brief of their task showing the website address to access the game and the criteria to consider when writing their evaluation. Function skills are embedded in this session as the learner would have to be able to: • Listen and interpret the instructions of the task. • Read the website address to access the maths game.

For example I find it essential to discuss the day’s lesson plan and targets with my class teacher. This gives me clear guidance and an objective when working with pupils, of what support I need to give in order to achieve the day’s targets. In the school environment, I am aware that I am acting as a role model to the children. How I communicate with colleagues, parents and pupils will reflect on how children will then communicate. It is important to adapt the way I communicate, because different audiences require different communication styles so that I can be understood easily.
The teacher may have genuinely been concerned with presenting too much information to students but through my classes at Sage, excessive stimuli is good of students with ADD because it gives them many things to focus on instead of causing behavioral problems.
