Interview and Standards Investigation Interview This essay consists of an interview with Mrs. Hancock, a fifth grade teacher that answered eight questions regarding social studies instruction during a one on one interview. The second part of the essay will provide an evaluation of the Arizona’s social studies standards for fifth grade. One of the first questions that was emphasized, was the student’s overall reactions to social studies, and how much time is engaged in the subject. Mrs. Hancock’s response was like any other subject taught in school; it is how the teacher plan and teach. As a teacher, she incorporates fun and interesting activities in her lessons so that the students will not get bored.
I will interject when assistance is needed. Each student then separately answers the passage on activity sheets. All students also answered question to the students as a whole group. All the students in the study completed reading comprehension at the end of week two to four. A survey sheet was also given to all students.
Thus, many times foreign children have already been exposed to what they are currently learning in America. Findings- Informal and Formal Assessments I observed Mateo on 3 separate occasions. The first was conducted in class. The other two were done individually in my room. I observed him in class because I wanted to see how he interacted with the teacher, his peers and the text that was presented.
By doing this you can see how well a person performs in action. While observing the teacher in the classroom setting you can tell how that individual interacts with the different types of students. You can also see if that individual is prepared to teach the subject that is needed. By observing them in the classroom setting you can see how well they teach the students and how they react to it on the job, off the cuff interaction. When I was in high school I experienced a bad teacher in English, then that following year I had an excellent English teacher.
