Objective 1: Observe and record teacher-pupil interaction in one classroom, and carry out an analysis of interaction. Background Data School: Carapichaima West Secondary Class: 2:1 Topic: Atoms and the periodic table No. of students: 18 Type of lesson: Lecture Interaction The student teacher interaction occurred throughout the double period. The students asked questioned and replied to questions enthusiastically. The students answered thirty-one questions that were asked all pertaining to the lesson. Five questions were asked from students pertaining to the lesson. The most student- teacher interaction occurred between the teacher and Aneilla. This student has a grade B she was very attentive, she answered six of the thirty-one questions asked one of which had an extended reply. She asked one question pertaining to the topic that was being taught. One of her answers to a question was guided by the teacher and had an extended response. She sat in the second desk near to the windows in the classroom. She is an extrovert and of Indian decent. On one occasion she displayed disruptive behavior in the classroom. During classroom activities her peer interaction was constructive. Shanelle has a grade C she was very attentive, she answered four of the thirty-one questioned asked.
