Strong Families Make Strong Churches By Frank Sipps III (23734493) THEO 330-B04 LUO March 10, 2013 Professor Ryan Rush Introduction What makes a strong church have you ever considered? Is it the amount of income that is reported each year? Is it the number of people that join each year, or the number of members on the church roll. No it is strong families. Strong families make strong churches. If we never have healthy families, then we will never have healthy churches. Therefore, the main concentration of this paper will be to bring out the Biblical teaching on the role of family in the church and its affect. The concept of family carries over into the church. This is found in Galatians 3:26 in that we become children of God (brothers and sisters) through Jesus Christ. When a believer fully understands what biblical family is they will become strong as individuals, family and produce strong churches. General Overview We are Family one of the misused phrases today. What is the biblical concept of family ask people and you will come up with many definitions. The correct answer as Christians should be based on what God’s word says and drawing on the following formula. “BIBICAL PRINCIPLES PUT INTO PRATICE UNDER THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT” (Christenson 1977) The key verse that all other scripture will reflect from is from Galatians 3:26 (KJV) 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Thus as we build strong biblical based families we carry this same strength over to our surrogate family extension the church. To better understand the concept of strong family equals strong church we must look at the following. 1. What is biblically definition of a strong health family? 2. The church family. 3. The challenge.
