MOVIE REVIEW: SPEED (1994) The movie, speed, starts with an elevator incident. Two brave officers, Jack Traven and Harry Temple, try their very best to save the people in the elevator. Both knew that there was a bomb built on top of the elevator, but no one knew how to take it down. Hours later, Jack and Harry still got to save the people in the elevator except the bomb turned off. Knowing this, the mysterious “bomber” got enraged that he pretended to kill himself in front of Jack and Harry. Everyone thought that the “bomber” is dead and that the peace is back. This “bomber” fired a bus that was just right in front of Jack. The “bomber” called Jack and told him that he wants a big amount of money and that if he doesn’t get it at a specific time given, the “bomber” will fire another bus called, 2525. The catches are, no one gets off or the bus will explode, the driver cannot slow down before 50kmh or the bomb’s timer will turn on, and the only one who knew was Jack Traven. Passengers were shot, injured, and traumatized but had nothing to do. I will be quick with this. In the end, the passengers of the bus were rescued without the “bomber” knowing. Harry, Jacks’ partner died. The Policemen found out who the “bomber” was, which is a retired police too called, Howard Payne. When Payne found out about this, he kidnapped a girl, Annie and strapped on her lots of bombs. Jack killed Payne and rescued the girl. The End. I found the movie a bit dragging. There were too many “events” to go to. First, I thought the whole movie would be all about saving the people in the elevator. Second, again, I thought it would be about saving the passengers in the bus. And finally, third, saving Annie from the Howard Payne. The bad guy never dies fast. I would also like to note the lack of appearance or action from the character, Harry. This movie was filmed during the year 1994. This
