Case Study Analysis: 1. The Sol y Canto business was founded in 1994 by Puerto Rican – Argentinean singer and bongo player, Rosi Amador & New Mexican guitarist and composer Brian Amador. Sol y Canto (sun and song) has brought audiences to their feet from the Kennedy Center and White House to the California World Music Festival, Boston's Symphony Hall, Puerto Rico as well as the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Sol y Can features Rosi Amador's voice and Brian Amador's guitar accompanied by other Latin musicians. The sextet has established a national reputation for its unique interpretations of Latin music, and for making their music accessible to non-Spanish and native speakers alike. Sol y Canto features Brian Amador's original compositions, as well as the poetry of other contemporary Latino songwriters. Their lyrics address social and global aspiration as well as matters of the heart. The Amadors were awarded 3 Boston Music Awards as "Best of Boston for Latin rhythms" by Boston Magazine, "Outstanding Latin Act," by the Boston Music Awards, and have received critical acclaim from publications such as the Boston Globe, the Washington Post, and People en Español.
