After intermission, the students from the Magnet School played eleven short songs under the direction of their instructors Rebecca Markowski and Jennifer Hutchison, along with the accompaniment of the Delta Orchestra musicians. The performances were very enjoyable to me. The Delta Symphony opened with “Olympic Fanfare and Theme” by John Williams. I enjoyed this song because it was recognizable to me and I was surprised by this because I had not thought that I would recognize any songs at this concert. This song was very loud and powerful.

Not everyone wants that much help! Teachers, quit making me take notes all the time! There are certain teachers that will grade you on your notes, calling it a participation grade. That has got to be the biggest load of crap I've ever heard! Many kids like myself are blessed with the capability to understand and remember things just by actively participating in the class discussion and listening to their teachers.
HESTEC Concert Popular concerts attract all sorts of audiences from the youngest to the oldest. One of the popular concerts that I was able to attend and that I really enjoyed this year was the Hispanic Engineering, Science, and Technology (HESTEC) Community Event. This event was on Saturday, September 5, and it was opened to the public. The HESTEC event is a yearly event the University of Texas Pan American prepares in other to motivate and so that all the children, teen, and adults can explore and get more information of any career that may interest them. Besides this goal, the UTPA also invites some Tejano singer to perform on that day.
Later when qualified as a legitimate sound engineer he went to work with Paul McCartney, The Hollies, and many others. His work on Pink Floyd’s Classic album Dark Side of the Moon, not only got him is first (of many) Grammy nomination, but got the attention of the world. That soon led to extreme successes as a producer, notably with Pilot’s Magic, John Milesa Highfly and Music and Steve Harley’s (Come up and See Me) Make Me Smile. He also produced the wildly successful Year of the Cat album with Al Stewart, and two albums with the band Ambrosia. In 1975, Alan met Eric Woolfson, who became his manager and partnered with Alan as a writer and performer.
It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything." --Plato "Nothing separates the generations more than music. When I am given a project or a paper, I always strive to get it done as soon as I can but still get the best grade on it. I believe that the fact that I was nominated to be a member of the National Honor Society shows my academic achievement in itself. It is difficult to narrow down the many instances where I have showed leadership but many can be found in my involvements in teamwork. I have been looked to as a leader and have taken responsibility for various group projects. I have discovered much about fairness, compromise, and responsible qualities that are required to be a "good" leader.
The Political Science program even helped me succeed in my schools AP course because it prepared me for future topics that I would eventually learn and most importantly the AP exam. Throughout the year I kept completing all the intricate assignments and by doing so I feel that challenging myself has benefited me for the future that awaits me. Before AP History I felt unaccomplished and that school was too easy. I used to complete my assignments and feel spiritless. The course made me realize that college wouldn't be cinch.
Getting good grades in school, especially on major tests and papers, was positively reinforced with a variety of rewards. In school, I enjoyed the praise and attention from teachers that resulted from performing well. At home, my parents rewarded me with praise and extra privileges like being able to stay up late on weekends, getting more time on the computer, being allowed to spend more time with friends, etc. On the other hand, when I got bad grades, the rewards were omitted with the withdrawal of praise from my parents and teachers, and having many of my privileges restricted until my grades improved. This system, along with an intrinsic motivation to do well, has always encouraged me to do my best in school and do whatever I could to learn more and keep my grades high, resulting in me being a better student, learning more study skills, and getting higher grades than I might have otherwise.
Many college students have a serious problem with anxiety. The Lassi module of Anxiety helps students to realize how to reduce stress from a day to day basis. By reducing and/ or even eliminating anxiety, the student is more able and willing to participate in courses, and complete the course work assigned as homework. Taking tests and doing other quizzes and in class work, is much harder for one who is diagnosed with anxiety. Clinical studies show that students who are free from anxiety, and other physiological illness, are more likely to achieve more than those who are going through the tragedy.
