"Nineteen-Eighty Four" by Eric Blair or under his pseudonym ,George Orwell, is one of the most celebrated literary artifacts of the past century. In it ,the entire world is divided into three authoritative states : Oceania, Eurasia & Eastasia and are in the midst of ubiquitous warfare. The subsequent plot of the novel is centrally focused in Oceania and its social hierarchy ; Inner Party (2%) , Outer Party (13%), and the remaining Proles (85%). A totalitarian state , Oceania ,it's inner party maintains its standards through an everlasting conflict with Eurasia with an aim of keeping the proletariat (Proles) in wretchedness and misery down at the bottom of the hierarchy. English Socialism or INGSOC is the ideology that pertains to the interests of the parties' members. Therefore it could be argued that Orwell necessarily used constant references to the English Socialism as he witnessed the socialism himself ,first hand in Britain and under Franco's dictatorship in Spain after the First World War. Likewise, it is important to note how fore-knowledgeable Orwell's work will always be as the tender topics of complete authority, surveillance and individuals liberty are repeatedly mentioned and are held at stake ,given the early time period. More specifically as long as there has been politics , there has been the potential for totalitarian states to rule their citizens and blind them by their ultimate use of revisionist propaganda. Winston Smith , the protagonist , lives an empty life in his isolated existence, his occupation consists of a worker at the ministry of truth, rewriting history ( manipulating ) and preventing any essence of truth from reaching the surface of an ongoing war. It is during his working hours when the reader is first introduced to the quote above. It is also important to realize that once the inner party had altered history they are very much likely to influence the futuristic events. Therefore they have absolute control over the future unless there is an organized revolt prepared to overthrow the entire regime. The following quote is also an example of powerful and destructive ideology in modern history because the strategies that Party chooses to adapt eliminates the sense of reliance that individuals have on the historical records. Also, the past reflect individuals decisions and once they are erased then they are hindered forever to learn from their mistakes. Similarly once the history is suitable to Party's ideology then the trivial information therein to read or know about is banished permanently and replaced with dry revisionist theories for the public .
