While some people are not using these rules, a lot of other people are using this rule. They are using to stay out of trouble, so that way their lives can go a little easier. It’s also common sense to stay to yourself and leave others alone anyways. Those who do not follow these rules are only asking for trouble. In conclusion, using these rules is very helpful.
Another weakness would be confidence, I know I am capable of doing the work but sometimes I doubt myself and my capabilities especially in the O.R. setting, I need to work on not allowing other individuals such as surgeons, reps, or nurses frazzle me to the point where I am not able to do my job like I am normally able to do. My first plan to improve my weakness of life interference I have already started to implement and the solution is to put myself in a better situation work extremely hard pray and work harder and make better choices slow down and think before acting make logical decisions not ones based off of emotion only. A way to improve my confidence weakness is to treat the O.R. like any other x-ray scenario, make sure I am familiar with the equipment prior to going into surgery and get familiar with the types of surgeries I will be doing.
Finally, I want to help you understand how your perceptions, emotions, and nonverbal expression can affect your interpersonal relationship. My textbook states, “ Effective communication patterns and skills are important characteristics of a good relationship.” (Sole,2011,ch.8.1) When we do not communicate in our personal relationships, utilizing the skills of listening, open mindedness, clarity, and honesty , a good relationship can turn bad real quick. An article in Health Day News states, “For many people, their communication skills with loved ones are not as strong as they think.”(2011, Jan.24) First I want to explain to you both some of the principles and misconceptions about effective interpersonal
For almost all psychological studies that are conducted, whether the experimenters are credited or not, there will undoubtedly be multiple limitations within the experimentation process that could be strengthened in order to provide a more convincing analysis. In Adams, Santo, and Bukowski’s study entitled, The Presence of a Best Friend Buffers the Effects of Negative Experiences, there were indeed numerous limitations that could have greatly altered the results. One limitation within this study was the amount of time in which this experiment took place. The study spanned over a period of four consecutive days whereas it should have been conducted over multiple weeks or even months. The more data that is collected, the easier it
They feel empowered as they find me reacting less to many negative feedback about them, or meddling less with their day-to-day plans, and actions. Though, it has never been a conscious of deliberate behavior from my side. If you ask me, it's just a different thought process that I have,
Because the program of harm reduction involves people who are willing to become change agents, educating and empowering themselves to make better choices involving their drugs (Enders, 2009), sociological labeling of the user hinders the practice of harm reduction. Because harm reduction shifts the users’ and societal paradigms by offering new perspectives, harm reduction reduces the likelihood of drug overdoses by instituting strategies for safer drug use choices. Therefore, in the absence of detrimental sociological labeling, the goal of harm reduction is to provide community services, educational resources and opioid reversal kits to drug users, their associates and their community which can prevent opioid overdose
Personal Reflection #1 b) To me, it is a rather simple process. Making ethical decisions may seem hard, difficult and struggling in some peoples' point of view. However, when I consider that, it usually takes less time. I do this because I certainly do not want to waste much time on making such decisions. Also, as long as my decisions fill my principle, I feel totally comfortable in making them.
This always helped in generating better ideas and always made our brainstorming sessions productive. Several factors affected the operation of our team due to our divergent personalities. One of the traits I was lacking before I became a member of this team was my ability to flex my personality style to take on roles that didn’t allow me to be within the comfort zone of my leadership style. According to the Bolton and Bolton leadership style I possess an analytical personality which shows that I am more responsive and less assertive. The positive enforcement on the concept that leadership can be learned encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and assume responsibilities that required different personality styles.
But there is a dark side to it that people often fail to see. And this dark side can actually leave them feeling worse about themselves; and failing to make sought-after changes in their lives. Kristin Neff, a renowned researcher on compassion, expressed the downsides of pursuing high self-esteem in her piece Self-Compassion: Moving beyond the pitfalls of a separate self-concept (2008). I'll summarize some of what she wrote while also sharing my own thoughts on this topic. When people succeed, their self-esteem is often elevated, and they feel good. At those times, all is well.
In situational leadership, the style may change continually to meet the needs of others in the organization based on the situation. I believe in situational leadership, I supervise OTs, PTs, COTAs & PTAs & department support staff. I find that I modify my leadership style according to the needs of the individual staff member. Once expectations are set, the seasoned therapists require less direction and inform me what they need and when they need it, they want to be supported and validated and I am confident the job will get done. The less experienced staff requires direction and supervision because they are still relatively inexperienced.
