The safety of the students at school may be at risk, such as the school shootings that occurred at Columbine High School. While many feel that providing teachers with handguns may prove detrimental to safety efforts, imposing such measures would provide educators and students alike with increased security and overall safety. Teachers should be allowed to carry handguns in school because it is their right to bear arms, it would provide better protection for the kids, and it would provide the parents with reassurance that their children are safe. First, as a United States citizen, it is our right to bear arms. It means we the people have the right to own and carry firearms.
Gun casualties and incidents throughout the country have woken the public up from its ignorance and shown them the danger guns can pose to society (Martinez, 2013). While some people want a complete blanket ban on the ownership of guns, others wants an easier access to guns so that every person may look after their own security. Part of what makes the term gun control a very controversial topic is that it’s used in a ambiguous way that does not explain the details of the issue and the demands, apart from literally controlling guns. The two prominent sides of the debate are the groups who ask for liberal gun laws that make it easier for a person to procure guns and conversely, there are groups who want to repeal the second amendment. I personally am a strong believer that an “ideal society” should have no guns; nevertheless crime is a big problem to the citizens of our society and guns are necessary.
One solution about the problem may be to speak up about the problem. How will anyone know that gun violence is a problem and must be stopped? “Closed Mouths Don’t Get Fed” A great quote that support this solution. We need to speak up, adults as well as our young children. Adults can speak to the young children and let them know what’s right from wrong considering our young children are the ones being targeting when it comes to gun play as well as violence.
If an intruder were to break in, and you're without a gun you're defenseless. Reenact the break-in with a gun in your hands, and watch the intruder run. Guns help intimidate and protect when law enforcement can't reach the incident in time. If any laws against guns were made, don't outlaw them because regardless guns can be obtained and used incorrectly. Instead, set restrictions and require a certain level of gun safety knowledge taught in a school based on the idea of self defense.
What about restrictions like only supervisors can carry tasers? A: Yes with continued misuse and negative publicity I do think they will be banned eventually. Q: If tasers were no longer used by police officers, should civilians be able to carry them for
In order to provide a safer environment where danger can be resolved more efficiently, teachers and faculty should be allowed to carry weapons in school. Typically, school massacres happen in the more suburban areas where the police stations are farther away so that even if the enforcements were notified of the occurrence, more than likely they would not make it to the scene in time resulting in the perpetrator getting away. If the teachers in the schools were able to pack heat, they could take action against the culprits. Not only will this save more lives, but the number of school shootings will drastically decrease as everyone would not attempt a school invasion as they are aware that the staff is well-armed. Some (mainly parents) may oppose to this proposition as it may be an awkward environment where students are trying to learn but are feared by the knowledge that the very person standing in front of them teaching, is armed with a dangerous weapon.
Grifin M. Price Kendra Gallos English III H 3/21/18 Gun Control Will Not Solve Anything Guns are given a bad reputation because of the terrors that can be committed by people who want to cause harm. Those who are gun control advocates wish to ban certain weapons without basis, ban certain weapon attachments, and restrict the rights of the second amendment. Gun control supporters base their opinion on statistics about gun violence that use a portion of data that is not about gun violence just to boost the value of the number. Supporters of gun control dismiss the saying “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” because they are misinformed about the number of defensive gun uses (DGU) which far outnumbers the
If this bill were to be passed it would hold the agencies accountable for uploading criminal history records. This bill being passed would not strengthen the checks but it would make sure that they stay updated. I think this is a good idea because this could result in guns not being sold to people with criminal backgrounds. Then again, this bill does not fully help the school shootings happening across America. If a kids parent has the consent to
In this essay “Gun, Sex, Education” by Jamico O’Meara, it shows that gun education should be taught in schools because sex education is taught as well. Gun education should be taught in schools but should not be taught to students that are the age 16 and under. A student who be under the age of 16 still need to learn responsibilities, what the differences between right and wrong, and can get effected by games and movies. Gun Violence in North America has been a huge issue for years and people have been trying to prevent this in their cities or towns. Responsibilities are a huge part of a person’s life.
Gun Control With the number of recent school shootings across the United States, gun control has been a provocative issue for many years. A large majority of American citizens believe that if gun control is strictly enforced it would rapidly reduce the jeopardy of lives. Many citizens believe they should have the right to carry a gun if not for protection of themself, but for their family as well, not to mention for the great American pastime of hunting. As long as the law is followed, Americans have a constitutional right to own hand guns; stricter laws and licensing requirements will not successfully save lives. The second amendment gives the right to American’s to bear arms; it basically states that with a well regulated military
