Should All Law Breaker to Be Send to Prison

Some people think that all law breakers should be sent to prison. Others, however, think that there are better alternatives for first time offenders. Crime rate has been increasing in Malaysia and many people says that all the law breakers should be sent to prison. Previously people trusted their friends, neighbors and everyone in their surroundings, but now days none is trustable as anyone in our surrounding can be a criminal or a suspect. As my personal opinion, I would say that every punishment are depending on the severe of the crime that committed by the offender. Firstly, crime can be categorized as minor crimes and major crimes and every punishment sentenced to the law breakers should be based on the seriousness of the crime. Psychologist found that people naturally would not be able to stay in a small and sealed room for long as this will make them uncomfortable. Therefore placing people into prison can be considered as harsh punishment, however this punishment can be used to warn people so they aware on the consequences if they commit to crime. Prisons are build and managed with the society’s money, therefore government should punish the criminals in the way that will be beneficial to the society. For an example, thieves can be forced to serve the society by doing community works as collecting rubbish, cleaning the housing areas and etc. This will also help and provide chance for the lawbreakers to realize their mistakes and bring them back to the correct path and turn them into useful individuals to their family and also to the society. Secondly, sending lawbreakers to prison are not the effective solution as there are proven facts that many lawbreakers walked in and recommit into crime after them being released. It is very important to study and do research on why all those people have to commit them self into crime and what are the factors that
