Human Imperfection Romeo and Juliet are one of the greatest examples of young love. They fell in love at first sight, but their family feud wouldn’t let them be together. Romeo and Juliet went to extremes to be together, and they found their only option to be death. It’s very plain and simple, Capulets and Montagues just hate one another. There is no real reason why they hate one another, other than having a different last name. Both houses would fight with one another. Whether it would be out in the open in the town square, physical or verbal brawls. Second of all, throughout the story you see the constant back-n-fourth of the families yet nobody ever took the time to listen. All their hostility, forced Romeo and Juliet’s love and marriage to be kept a secret. One of the reasons that Juliet did not want to marry Paris, ignoring the fact that she did not love him, was that she was already married to Romeo. The only character that had a deep, deep hatred toward Romeo and his family was Tybalt. Tybalt’s rage led to him killing Mercutio. Which caused Romeo to kill Tybalt and be banished. Then Juliet's “death” and then Romeo's death himself. Also, I guess you could make a case that Lord Capulet had something to do with all of this, though he never really knew about Romeo and Juliet’s secret romance. Fate is quite obvious throughout the play but without human imperfections, hate, and ignorance it’s obvious that Romeo and Juliet would have easily found a way to be
