Robberies and criminal actions are suffered by thousands of people every day around the globe. Undertaking a number of different measures, societies are looking forward to deter criminals and lower criminal rates. Some of these measures have been proved to be effective deterrents, while others perpetuate criminal actions. On the one hand, education is the main key to deter criminals. For a government that wants to lower criminal rates, it is necessary to provide education to society and to ex convicts who want to fit into society. Prevention is the key(. )Since children are the future of society, it is crucial that they receive the appropriate and formal education they need in order to apply for a profitable and satisfying job in the future and avoid turning to crime. For example, in Argentina( no comma )there are a worrying number of children that have left school and work in the streets, usually interacting with the “wrong company”. It is only a matter of time to see them committing a crime. Apart from that, it is essential to provide education to ex convicts that do not want to be driven to crime and that want to fit into society. On the other hand, society has not taken the right measures as regards security, and this is helping criminals to perpetuate criminal actions. The current laws adopted and the punishments inflicted are deficient. Severe punishments must be imposed and laws must be enforced in order to reduce the criminal rate. For example, a law called “two for the price of one” determine that, after two years, each day a suspect spent in prison without a formal verdict was counted twice. In addition, the number of policemen in the streets must be higher, in order to frighten criminals that will have fewer opportunities to commit a crime.
