O'Keefe's Traveling Salesman 1) O'Keefe employs this rhetorical strategies to help the reader better understand the situation by including details pertaining to the background of the story. 3) O’Keefe describes her ethos by writing in a way that makes the reader feel that she is hard working and knowledgeable girl. Since she proves her experience in the topic of whether to import workers or export jobs, she persuades the reader by her character and credibility. 4) O’Keefe criticizes the workers from India and Russia for their American over shore tech jobs, but at the same time she understands and supports them because she believes that an opportunity like that would not be smart to pass up. With one blow, the dust can go away. O’Keefe encourages her readers to blow away the past and be more open minded so we can live the present to its full ability. I agree with her because if we keep looking back into past, eventually the present will become the past and we will become part of the dust ourselves. And when that happens, all we will do is regret we didn’t take the chance to transform the present from the past when had the opportunity to. 8) Importing workers or exporting jobs has impacts outside of a corporation’s business operations.
