“Bullying is a big problem that effects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on it’s receiving end” (Lyness 1). Bullying does not just affect kids, but the parents too. It affects the parents because a lot of their children begin to be afraid attending school. In the novel Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, Melinda was affected by being bullied lead her to think about suicide, scared of coming to school, and victims like Melinda begin to not care about school and fail. Melinda was affected by being bullied and led to many things and one of them is thinking about suicide.
Cyber bullying can have a longer lasting effect on the victim. It can be humiliating due to the fact that it has a bigger audience opposed to the kids on the playground. There are many warning signs that could indicate that someone is involved in bullying. Some of the signs include the following; they come home with damaged or missing clothing, they have thing such as electronics and jewelry come up lost, and they have unexplained injuries and complain frequently of feeling sick. They can hurt themselves, and they can lose interest in school, friends and activities that they used to enjoy.
Growing up in rough times means rough times in some schools. In Columbine High School Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were the victims of bullying throughout high school (Moore). People probably ridiculed them and picked on them because they were considered weird. The bullying and anger got to them and that is probably what caused them to breakdown. Growing up I was bullied plenty of times by insensitive students.

Often thought of as something that only effects youth, bullying has become something that can happen to anyone at any time. In recent times there have been reports of people being bullied so bad, they have taken their own lives to escape from the constant torment.
Another problem that social media creates another way for people to bully or have access to emotionally abuse others. Bullying has become a debacle in the news for years on kids that are being abused emotionally and even in some cases physically as well. Bullying has a huge impact on schools and education. In many cases children who are victims of bullying have a lower self-esteem later in life, and are prone to missing more school because of excused and unexcused reasons. This results to kids have lower grades cause they are not there to get the full education and lower grades.
Social isolation, poor housing, unemployment and poverty are all linked to mental ill health. So stigma and discrimination can trap people in a cycle of illness. The situation is exacerbated by the media. Media reports often link mental illness with violence, or portray people with mental health problems as dangerous, criminal, evil, or very disabled and unable to live normal, fulfilled lives. 2.2 How mental illness can have an impact on the individual: Psychologically: - person may become paranoid and therefore exclude him or her self -person may become paranoid and therefore hurt others who she/he fears will try to hurt him/her -person may become isolated and therefore out of touch with other people and reality in general -person may feel unloved even if it is not true -person may feel like he/she is a threat to society and therefore attempt suicide emotionally: -person may feel isolated, unloved, paranoid, panicked and non-human (read Francis Kafka's The Metamorphosis)

Sickness and school is what has gotten me to my mental state. I suffer from migraines which when I have them effects my concentration and sight (makes things fuzzy etc) so when I have a migraine I can’t go to school because the only way to get rid of it is to rest it off. When my migraines become worse I get more time off school and then I get behind in school work which stresses me out and starts of my anxiety. Even if I didn’t have my migraines I would still be stressed about work but not to the extent I experience when I’ve been
