Essay Real vs virtual communication What is a real communication? It is the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information by speech, visuals, signals or behavior. In contrast of this, virtual communication is a very broad term referring to any means of communication with others, anywhere through cyberspace. It can include using emails, text messaging, social networks like Vkontakte or Facebook and video calls such as Skype. Which way of communication will you choose? It’s important to decide what will be better for us. Although they seem to have many differences, there are some important similarities. The first similarity is that they both give us ability to keep in touch with other people. For example, we can meet together in a café or just simply phone this person. The next similarity is that real communication like virtual allows us to meet new people to become friends or more. Furthermore, these two ways of communication help us not to feel lonely. For example, when we stay at home for a long time without society, internet, phone, we are getting mad. We can’t live without communication. Finally, they both give us ability to get new information, to share our thoughts and feelings. Although real and virtual communication has similarities, they are different in several ways. The first difference is in time wasting. For example, in virtual communication we can save the time by avoiding misunderstandings, while in real life it’s more difficult. If you are a very busy person it really helps you to avoid it. Everyone knows the quotation “Time is money”. The next difference is in emotions and feelings. For example, people use to lie about their real feelings in cyberspace, whereas in real life it’s very difficult to deceive because people see your
