Reaction To The Movie Crash

My reaction to this movie, Crash, was a lot of mixed and emotional feelings. I was devastated to see people discriminating against others simply based on their racial identity. It makes me feel like society as a whole as a lot of maturing to accomplish. An individuals’ race is only a small part of a human beings’ character, however others don’t look at different races and cultures in the same aspect. Several times throughout this movie I had broken down and cried because It truly hurt me to know that others could be treated like garbage just because there race is different. Various feelings and scenarios throughout this movie touched my heart and the sensitive side within me. It sickens me to know that people out there truly treat others the way some of these characters’ were portrayed. It makes me wonder how others make themselves feel somewhat superior to others just by putting them down. Since when did the color of one’s skin impact the true status of a person? We have all degraded ourselves to a point where we are teaching our own children to grow up in a cold word passing on these unjust stereotypes. Many of the stereotypes that people pass on by a certain human being based on their appearance can be extremely false. It is a given fact that every human being on this earth judges one another to some extent, however when it becomes discrimination is when that point has exceeded a simple judgment to an action. I could relate in many ways to the African American characters because my family and I have been judged in similar ways in the past. We have been judged and characterized to be “gangbangers” or “uneducated” because our skin color has a darker tint to it. However, they don’t realize how educated and well civilized my family is.
