m Occupied Economics Source Analysis: Topic 17 Social 30-1 The three sources presented are all related as they value the majority of the citizens rather than the wealthy minority. The wealthy minority implement practises that limit the economic, political and social freedoms of the citizens. These practises are protected by policies that must change in order for the country as a whole to benefit by allowing citizens the right to the freedoms classical liberalism was founded on. The first source is of a woman supporting a protest movement against economic and social inequality; Occupy Movement. In the latter half of 2011 this movement began to catch traction across the globe.
If they are out of season and output is down, less help is needed so layoffs will occur. Next you want to make sure your company is well respected based on the moves you make. Government plays an important role in the economy. By manipulating the arsenal of tools within a fiscal policy, the government can either speed up or slow down the economy depending upon what issues needs to be addressed socially and economically. By completing this simulation I have learned how decisions relating to fiscal policy can affect the economy.
The political, legal and social factors In this section I will analyse how political, legal and social factors have impacted Manchester United and Sue Ryder. I will also consider which of the factors are most significant and what sort of impact they are having on Man U and Sue Ryder. I will also analyse the changes in business planning that have resulted from these external changes and how are these two businesses coping with these changes? Manchester United The most important political factor for Manchester United is the tax. When the government decides to raise the tax rate this has a negative impact on Manchester United because this means they can not carry out given activities and this will prevent them from achieving their aims and objectives.
Do you believe you can change the government for the better? Just wait until the next elections in the United States. There are political parties with ideas, who believe they can. Political parties are defined as an organized group of people with the same political aims and opinions, who seeks to change the public policy by having their candidates elected to the public office. The media ,Political Parties, Voters, and the Electoral Process are all connected, the next president of the United States will face a more difficult economic and fiscal situation than any President in recent memory. While some citizens would prefer that governmental leaders implement spending cuts while others would favor an increase in revenue, as a practical matter the country’s precarious financial situation cannot be addressed exclusively by just one of these options.
Politicians and writers who support her viewpoints were known as the New Right. A number of the principles of the New Right are based on the theories of market forces. They felt that the British economy was in decline and something needed to be done to change the situation. People had to take the responsibility for their own future rather than depend on the state. They said that there should be competition amongst schools in the same way as private companies compete against each
Although estimates vary (depending on how poverty is defined), in 2008 almost 10% of all Canadian families were living at or below the poverty line (see INCOME DISTRIBUTION). The majority of these households contained two parents. Nearly 30% of lower-income families had at least one adult with a post-secondary degree and almost one-third had the equivalent of one person with full-time paid employment. However, lower wages for women and women's childcare responsibilities help explain why female-headed households have a very high poverty rate. By the 1990s lone-parent mothers had a 2 in 3 chance of being poor.
Marxist theories state that inequality is not a female issue, but a class one, for they note that middle class women are often better off than working class men. This point seems futile; can inequality not be a problem of the female and the working class male? Class aside, it is an indisputable fact that by and large, women are affected more harshly by poverty than men, in Pearce’s research into poverty in the United States, she found that two thirds of the poor who were over 16 were women. Poverty is rapidly becoming a female problem. Marxists however claim that we should focus on the eradication of capitalism, because then gender disparities will swiftly follow.
An estimated 5.4 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer’s disease in 2012. This figure includes 5.2 million people age 65 or older and 200,000 individuals under age 65 who have younger onset Alzheimer’s. One in eight people age 65 and older has Alzheimer’s disease and nearly half of people age 85 and older have Alzheimer’s disease. More women than men have Alzheimer’s disease. Almost two third of Americans with Alzheimer’s are women which is explained by the fact that women live longer on average than men.
65% of the population are economically active, 19% of the population are under the age of 15 and 16% are over 65. This means that for every 100 people working there are almost 54 people who are dependants. The consequences of the ageing population for an economy The increasing number of very old people has put a strain on healthcare services and social care services. Very old people have particular needs (e.g. decreasing mobility, loss of eye sight etc.)
Assess sociological views of the impact of government policies and laws on family life. A social policy is a plan or action of government agencies which aims to improve or reform society. Sociologists have many different views on them which makes it difficult to understand if they really are beneficial towards our society. Feminists argue that society is patriarchal and everything is made to benefit men. An example of this could be maternity and paternity leave.
