PAD 515 Week 3 Discussion Carver is missing some very basic values and attitudes. He is missing being considerate, respectful, fair, cooperativeness. The changes that Carver needs to make are numerous. The changes will be difficult for him to sustain, as they are not his “style”, but change can be achieved, as with anything, if he works on his values and attitudes. It will more than likely take his subordinates and co-workers even longer to trust that he has changed and that he will adhere to his new found values and attitudes.
My schedule doesn’t allow for a lot of give, so everything I do is with purpose and on time. I forget that not everyone has the same regimen and need to be so time conscience. I am also not good at adapting to change, which is a critical skill I need to work on. In being with the same company for so long, we have seen our fair share of change, and I do eventually come around, but I think I could do it faster and better if I were more flexible and adaptive when I first become aware of changes on the way. Sometimes we learn of change the day of, via email, and it definitely throws me for a loop.
Learning from these mistakes, SHC spent considerable time and effort forming a selection team and gaining consensus for its new EMR system, which resulted in Epic as a clear winner. SHC has successfully involved stakeholders in the selection and implementation strategy; nevertheless, SHC leadership must keep in mind that many people within the organization may be wary of a new system given the frustration that was caused by the implementation of Carecast. The major factors that negatively affect EMR system implementation have to do with people – a lack of strong leadership and effective governance, along with suboptimal change readiness and stakeholder involvement. Inasmuch, SHC leadership must show a long-term commitment to transformation and implementation of the Epic system. Although it is not as common to start implementation with the front office, beginning a rollout with clinical applications would send a positive message to physicians that the new system was integral to the organizations core strategy rather than just an administrative exercise.
Getting older I went thru a phase where I always wanted to cover up (jacket, big clothes ect), but after that phase I became comfortable in my own skin. Embraced who I was and begin loving me. Learning about the Transtheoretical model of behavior change helped me to clearly understand the many changes I been thru and are currently going thru today. The first stage is pre contemplation where I was in denial that a problem existed; I did not intend to start a healthy behavior in the near future and was very unaware of
I lived in my elder sisters hand-me-downs for many years. This has taught me, not only the value of money and material items, but also how to be patient. I can now employ patience within my work place, and can understand why life might be financially challenging for some of the elderly people that I look after. I was always considered as being a bit of a 'soft touch' when I was younger, constantly letting others have their way. In my older life, and particularly within my job role, this has taught me that I can be emphatic and sympathetic towards people.
Like most, my life is always changing and things do not always work out as planned. I think it is important to remember to stay in charge especially when you are down. For me, when I am down, that is when I am most susceptible to be influenced by others or my surroundings. I do not really agree though when the book discusses using this map for “designing the rest of your life” (Life Launch pg 48). To me, that sounds too much like a perfect world and like we all have enough time to sit down and plan everything out and then
Getting To Know Someone New Meeting people for the first time has always been a struggle for me. I’ve always worried about what they are thinking or what they might say when I leave their presence. Meeting Bret Grass has helped me overcome that fear a little bit. He has taught me to be myself and not worry about what others think about me. Bret Grass has introduced himself to us as a big theatre person.
Orlando Montes EOP ESSAY The most difficult challenge I have had to overcome during my life time was not being able to communicate correctly through the written word being able to transfer thoughts from my mind to a piece of paper might sound like a brainless task to most people. This on the other hand is one of the most difficult things I have to overcome whether if I’m texting my girlfriend, writing something for school, or even posting a status on facebook, that is what I find to be a big challenge. Just knowing where to start so I can move along makes my head hurt and I get distracted too easily. But I’m sure soon enough, God can transform me into person with a clear mind. A personal experience that has made a lasting impression on me has to be when I moved out of my parent’s house.
“A Rose For Emily” has had a profound impact on me. Though the story made me sad, it also served in uplifting my intellectual reasoning and understanding of the current state surrounding us. The situation in the world today is quite discouraging especially to those who do not make rational decisions early enough in their lives. We, therefore, need to reason first before taking any
I joined General Wilsons Regiment, of which Captain Folletts Battery was in charge. Although my decision to enlist had been predetermined, there was an overwhelming abundance of propaganda that was downright humerous. Even before I began training, I knew I was less than ideal in terms of fitness; the training was nasty work. Most soldiers found more monotony than the excitement they were expecting, but I was prepared in terms of my mindset. Unfortunately I wasn’t so in training.
