In addition, clarity, correctness, and courtesy are very important and they represent for our efforts. The memo should be clearly written and organized in direct order, beginning with the objective and then systematically and covering the vital bits of information (Rentz, 2008).

Introduction • Introductions should be more than just a thesis • To develop introductions: o Utilize the background information to set the stage of the topic. o Thesis should be evident Body Paragraphs • Each paragraph needs a topic sentence • Evidence needs to be present. An ideal situation is at least 3 pieces of evidence. o Use quotes from the documents (not the background essay) o Summarize and/or paraphrase longer text or visual documents • Links: Should do two things – o Explain the evidence in your own words o Explain how the evidence proves that your claim as related to the topic sentence and thesis of your essay • A concluding sentence should help bring together your claim in each paragraph and serve as a transition to the next claim. I argue when I am trying to prove a point, whether it is something I agree with or it is something I feel is wrong. Logic is very important in an argument. When you use logics, it will help to support your argument. You realize what made your argument strong, and you understand what you lacked to make your argument a success. Not only that, you will be able to learn from other people’s arguments also.
It should also have all important words capitalized excepting prepositions and articles and should not be in bold, italics, quotes, or underlined. (2) The Hook should be the first element of the Introductory paragraph and it should be a question, quote, or anecdote that gets the reader thinking about the topic. (2) Background should give the reader a brief, clear idea of the scope of the problem. Who it affects, how it affects them, for how long has it done so, etc. (2) The Basis for Knowledge should identify precisely how much experience you have with a topic.
