ESE 315 WEEK 5 JOURNAL POSITION STATEMENT ESE 315 Week 5 Journal Position Statement, As I read the statement in “Early Childhood Inclusion: A Summary”, I came up with the conclusion of what the creation of a sense of belonging and membership, positive relationships and reaching full potential means when working with all young children and families. First, I would make sure that my classroom environment accommodates all my students and the parents feel comfortable with their child in the environment also. Throughout my teaching career and working with all children and families I have discovered that the best therapy a child can have is from their peers, therefore making the classroom environment as confident and warm as possible has always been a key and success for me. I have always had a classroom where all kids were included and this made all my students more peaceful and kind to one another and vey proud in their work and others as well. Since, I have been thinking of different ways of creating environments, seeing children’s strengths, abilities, and communicating with families during this class, I am going to briefly discuss two things I plan to implant in my professional experience.
We will let her know that there is an open line of communication so if she ever feels uncomfortable or needs assistance on something that she does not feel knowledgeable or confident about then she can always go to a supervisor’s office. She will also be offered personal therapy to make her feel more comfortable and confident in her own sessions. Personal therapy should help benefit her in her personal and professional life (Oteiza 2010). Her personal therapy sessions should help her become more comfortable working with families instead of just children. Janice is a great part of this agency and after she completes some personal therapy and the policies are reviewed and enforced that records must be submitted in a
Thomas about her disease and its outcome may be needed. Explaining how cancer metastasis and what to expect at each stage will give Mrs. Thomas a sense of control. It will allow her to make informed decisions about her own care such as; implementing advance directives and or code status documents. Reiterate that pain control will give her more quality time with loved ones and allow her to be independent for as long as possible. The goal is to keep her pain under control if not completely relieved.
I would discuss with her that she needs assistance and suggest ideas on which services she has available to her if she wishes, however she will need to draw her own motivation and create goals that are achievable for her. We could start with making a list on her wishes and then build that up and this could include some short term making plans to: * Prioritise the health of her baby * Creating a healthy environment for her baby * Accessing help for Heroin addiction * Rebuilding relations with her family I would suggest the following services that may be of assistance to her: * Detoxification centres: To help Kathy to develop a plan to manage her usage
Once I‘ve identified these I look at the type of training opportunity which is appropriate and relevant to my role, and formulate a plan to how this will be achieved. In my case I want to become a registered manager, so in preparation I have taken part in formal training including: • Advanced medication • Professional supervision Also doing this, Health and social care diploma level 5, whilst working through this it is helping to identify areas I need more training in which I plan to arrange training for myself i.e. Mental Capacity Act. Alongside formal training I also ensure I get informal training, for example: • Sitting in on resident Reviews with my manager, then moved on to doing them on my own with prior advice from my manager. • Getting help and advice for manager on computer skills as this is something I need to improve on.
Promoting Interdisciplinary Care In order to provide Mrs. R. with the proper education and prenatal care Mrs. W. must delegate educational opportunities to the team on staff at the clinic. To begin you need set up a meeting with Mrs. W. to discuss the case and delegation. As a new supervisor you must establish a rapport with Mrs. W. so that a productive conversation can be accomplished. You must set up with each part of the team the priorities with clear communication (Ranahan. 2011).
I would do the Beck’s Depression Inventory with her to determine the severity of the problem. I would do a mental exam on her to determine the severity of the Alzheimer’s. - Clinician Characteristics To be best able to work with Mrs. Sanders I would have to show her that I cared, show empathy, as well as a desire to help her. I would have to be able to motivate her and promote her continued independence. I would need to be structured, creative, and positive to help her find ways to deal with the Alzheimer’s.
Jill can be supported by offering her a referral. You could suggest a place that may be ideal for Fluer and her needs. You could give Jill the contact information and you could further help her out by offering to contact the service yourself and making an appointment for her. You would have to confirm whether she is comfortable with you discussing their personal information with the service. Task 4 1.
Client Introduction I will introduce myself to the client as a social worker who's trying to assist her to get back on track of finding stability and self preservation. In addition I will allow her to become comfortable enough to open up and allow me to get a better understanding. I will go deeper into depth to find out her foundation. Also, find out what caused her to become bipolar or causes her excessive manic episode. Establish trust bond that will allow me to help her with her inner emotions and children bitterness.
