1.1 Identify causes of conflict at work (12) According to a study by Bell and Hart in 2000 and 2002, there are 8 causes of conflict. Conflicting resources, conflicting styles, expectations, goals, pressures and roles, different personal values, and unpredictable policies. Poor management can cause conflict in the workplace. If the team don’t know the boundaries and goals, or if they are unclear of what job they are supposed to be doing, they will start to clash. I think this was the case in my workplace, due to naivety and lack of confidence.
However, since being among the main labor union in America, the UAW has organized several industrial actions includes strikes and sit–down that have interrupted operations in big industries for example General Motors. These interruptions cause a lot of losses to the companies and to the economy as a whole. (Barnard, 2004) This paper is going to take a look
Working conditions were harsh for the American industrial worker in the 1800s. With the boom of the Second Industrial Revolution and the need to expand business to meet consumer demands, employment opportunities opened at a rapid rate. In order to maximize profits, however, workers were given very few luxuries. Most factories had deplorable working conditions and were unsafe. Many workers lost hearing from loud machinery, lost limbs in hazardous equipment, and even lost their life due to the apathy of factory owners.
General Motor's decision to close 11 factories allowed the corporation to gain more money but put thousands out of work, devastating the workers and the towns they lived in. The corporations should think of how their decisions affect people. Although this move may provide Americans with cheaper jobs, it has added thousands more to the already high unemployment. After watching the movie "Roger and Me," directed by Michael More, one would notice the changes in the town of Flint after the closing of the factory. While senior management is getting raises and expanding their corporation, people are living in misery because of the lay-offs; this could change if the corporations gave those unemployed some compensation.

Her current position is lead distribution planner in the Chemicals and Performance Products Division of WCC North America. The most recent WCC North America customer service report revealed that “customers continually give the company average-to-poor marks in customer service performance. In particular, customers express extreme dissatisfaction with the order-information process.” Sanders was of the opinion that the more WCC sales and distribution systems were expanded, the more management and communication bottlenecks seemed to be created. She was also well aware that the issue of order information status was problematic throughout all of WCC’s North American operations. Each division had been hard at work over the past 18 months developing and instituting a variety of software packages aimed at improving its service performance.
MHA and their subsidiary, NYH, have been facing financial issues in the recent years. Due to the need to cut costs, the companies have been forced to eliminate costs in various areas of the firms. In doing so, many problems are arising as a result. Accounting employees are becoming scarce forcing heavy workloads on the remaining staff. In addition, much of the new assignments are given to untrained professionals with strict completion deadlines.
I will determine whether or not they are personal or truly organizational. I have issues of my own with the company that will contribute to the topic of discussion as I have very low job satisfaction. During my time with the company I have seen them lose some of their highest performers, and most of them have left unhappy. However, I have also seen some of those same individuals return to the company. FOS has employees who have been there years and never plan to leave.
I have watched a lot of sports programs in the past and black athletes have come right out and said they are the more dominate, now who is defining who? He talks about the blacks conceding to the whites it is not a matter of black or white it is a matter of determination and drive. If two men are applying for the same job one white one black, they are not looked at by color but by skills and education. I think everyone is afforded the same chance when it comes to that but you have to put forth the time and energy that it takes to reach these goals. He talks about the prisons being full because of the physical aggressiveness and refusal to submit to authority, the prisons are full is correct but it is not just the black man the white and the Hispanic are roommates alongside the black man in the cells.
The economy is making people turn into crime to get money. A lot of the crimes are taking place because of the economy a lot of people are getting laid off and do not know what to do to provide for themselves and as well as for their family. As the economy gets worse and worse there are more inmate population. When an inmate arrives they are provide with everything and in someone else expense. The community with their taxes they pay it provides them with everything.
