The Console War of 2013-15 From late 2013 to this day, the biggest debate in the gaming community still stands. Is the PlayStation 4 better than the Xbox One? Gaming is a big business, and Sony and Microsoft are in a constant battle for the number one spot in technology. Sony comes out on top with the PlayStation 4. Not only are the perks better, the sales are higher, but Sony has also upgraded a substantial amount between the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. Considering the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are a like, the PS4 has mildly better perks and specifications. To play online with people around the world, one will need an online membership. PlayStation Plus users receive two free games every month for the PS4, PS3, and the PS vita. Also, the price for PlayStation Plus is $10 cheaper than Xbox Live; $49.99- PlayStation 12 moth membership (Target); $59.99- Xbox Live 12 month membership (Best Buy). The hardware and specifications of the PS4 are better all around. The max resolution on the PS4 is 1080p at 30 or 60 fps (frames per second) vs. the Xbox One at a max of 720p at 30/60 fps (Swider). Certain games like Assassins Creed, The Witcher 2, Thief, and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition has 60 fps on the PS4, but only 30 fps on the Xbox One (Swider). This is to only name a few advantages the PS4 has on the Xbox One in the hardware aspect. Not only are the components of the PS4 better, but also the sales are higher as well. The sales worldwide blew Xbox One sales out of the water. As of March first, Sony hit 20.2 million PlayStation 4 consoles sold since the release date November of 2013. On the day the PS4 was released, November 15, 2013, 1million systems were sold worldwide within the first 24 hours.
