Students might want to drop out because they are struggling in school, getting bullied, have a health issue, have personal family problems, or just have a planned out future that doesn't require a high school diploma. Making teens do something they absolutely don't want to do, especially after they are 16, can result in even worse outcomes. “Efforts to raise the age usually come up against the argument that requiring students to stay in school when they no longer want to be there is disruptive to the other students and not fair to the teacher”. Thats a very knowledgeable statement because its true that when teens want to drop out, they want to drop out before they are 18, so they are most likely going to be careless and disrespectful at school. Some teens have personal reasons that are sometimes urgent, and staying in school isn't an option.
The main reason of procrastinating is laziness. Most of the students when they for example get the assignment put it off to the side and do it "later".But that "later" becomes right before the due date or deadline .Still there are many more causes like the fear of failure. It makes you repel the task so that you never have to know this feeling of failure.Or the fear of success it can seem really weird but, but the fear of the success is one of the reason of procrastination. For example, some procrastinators are afraid that by beginning to work at top speed, they cannot stop any more and will become drug-addicts of the work. Indeed, for the procrastinator, if the procrastination is a compulsive act, then the opposite ( the working desire) is also true. He then imagines to have to spend time in front of the computer or in the library to work, without ever getting out to see his(her) friends. The procrastinators are also sometimes afraid, them who are afraid of the success are also afraid that their personality changes if they work too much.
I always felt I was the unlikely newcomer, so as early as the first grade I had to learn how to earn others respect. As weird as it may sound I only hated moving so much because I had to move schools. As I move the housing situation continuously got better. To me it was much harder keeping friends than settling in a new house. It was never hard making friends though because, as soon I as I was moved immediately to get comfortable in a new situation I would always be bought something
Life is only starting for me, I know I’ll face more challenges in my life, but if I don’t have the diploma I will not have a future, I’ve lost friends that I thought would be there for me, you have to lose something to gain something even better. I wanted to personally attend Fresh Start for graduating purposes, the school is right down the road from my old school. The people who I thought were my friends told me, “not to leave, and that if I was really your friend you wouldn’t leave me”. No, actually if I WAS your friend you wouldn’t be stopping me, you should be pushing me to do better for myself, and that spoke volume to me. I used to think I’ve had real friends, until a small inconvenience shown me otherwise.
I dropped out of school when I had my first child and I didn’t get my high school diploma until I had my 3th child. I was very determined to at least get my high school diploma that was a successful day when I received my High School Diploma. My next challenge was to go to college staying focused. I’ve been part of activities and would stop right in the middle, only because either it wasn’t interesting or I would get frustrated. But I came to find out that it was not a great idea to start something and not finish, only because it would start to become a habit and your life would always be flip flop, plus it wasn’t a good example.
I was told that when you become a junior that’s when everything starts to get harder and you have to buckle down meaning no time for friends and really no weekend because it was going to require a lot of work, but I was sure that if I got through middle school, 9th and 10th grade that it would be no different than any other grade level class that I had taken already and passed. I was receiving an assignment in all classes to complete during the summer. I started the work, but it was so boring that I never finished the work. As time went on, my grades affected me, so I had to get tutoring if I wanted to be able to play football in the upcoming season. As I spent more time trying to bring up my grade in one class, my grades began to suffer in my other classes.
This simply will not work if no effort is made to correctly indentify were and with who the problem started. Although an immediate situation is removed the underlying tensions remain. Many times the bullies actually remains in school and obviously his behaviors will continue with other students. Now that the behavior of these bullies are being encouraged or allowed to occur by the school its only matter of time before a “columbine” situation occurs. When concerns are expressed about the schools handling of any problem, the principle is quick to give a laundry list of training and education that make her qualified for the position she is in.
In High Schools around the United States scores are getting worse and worse and it’s due to unmotivated teachers who don’t care about the integrity of teaching anymore because it all seems pointless in this current time. You could make a lot more points about High School and its flaws but these ones are the biggest ones that need addressing. From High School to College, a lot of things change. In College you pick your classes, your times, basically everything. You have freedom to do what you like and aren’t held back by counselors and certain start times.
I ended up failing 2 of my classes, and was quite close to passing one of them. I actually had the realization that failing classes in high school is bad. Most people already know this, and I actually thought I did too, but now I know firsthand. This really was a wake-up call for me and I really plan on working to my ability when it comes to high school. Now of course, when I do not take my academics seriously, there are consequences.
In this case there’s no problem being late to class everyday or not even come to school in several occasions; as in matter or fact teachers envy students to go to college or even a top rated university to have a better future than teachers themselves. High school students should revolt against teachers. Students should know how to be late to school or worry less about nasty and evil teachers hunting down on us with net traps and forcing us to be taught for the good sake of them; if not, there are many other ways to show gratitude or same respect careless teachers have upon us. The first thing students need to say to themselves in revolting against teachers is how to make a teacher’s life miserable? Well, as all students, students could just not bother coming to school, that way teachers won’t do anything and just leave them by their selves in school all day.
