On November 5, 2008, a supervisor told the employees to turn out all of the lights and that everyone had to leave right now (Lydersen, 15). This seemed strange to some of the employees because people where still finishing with their work. While all other employees left, two employees acted as if nothing was wrong and hung around outside the plant to see what was going on. Immediately the plant manager and a former manager come out and looked around, than five cars drove up with former employees and supervisors. These men began removing boxes and pieces of machinery from the warehouse.
The number one thing they should have done when planning their mitigation should have been the sprinklers. That is a no brainer they really should have had them installed, that’s something every building should have put in. Another effort they should have done was install more emergency exits. They could have done a better job at spreading out the exits and putting better LED exit signs above them so people could see them through the smoke. And also another thing that should have been on their list of possible mitigation is to change their insulation.

I mean, to treat a patient that’s regurgitating black vomit all over is not a pleasant scene. I don’t think I would be able to carry out the operation without even knowing what was wrong. If the black vomit exploded all over me, I probably would have been extremely worried, but not freak out. I probably wouldn’t have time to think about that, I mean you’re trying to save a patient. I would be worried about if it was infectious as you could clearly see it was dangerous.
They have to evacuate as many people as they can from damaged building that are about to collapse or buildings that are on fire. They also have to perform safety checks on the area, so they and others from the other services are not harmed while being involved in the operation, then they are able to put out the fires. Depending on the incident, the Fire Service doesn’t just put out fires. In some cases, when buildings have collapsed on people in their cars, the Fire Service have used other equipment; such as ‘The Jaws of Life’, in order to cut people free from their cars. Lastly, the Fire Service also investigate the cause of the incident, whether it is to find out the cause of the fire or buildings collapsing, the Police would work alongside with them, because it is the Fire Service’s

(Schermerhorn, Osborn, Uhl- Bien, & Hunt, 2012) Personally, I have worked a 4/10 work week and loved it. Of course, that job was when I did not have a child. I could not work that type of scheduling now. I can barely get him to his after school activities when I leave work at 5:15pm. My childcare will not stay open passed 6pm.
