The root of Creon’s immoral behavior, towards Antigone, is not an inability to distinguish between what is wrong and what is right, but rather a fear of what would happen if he were to choose the morally right way to function. In the play, Creon says that he is very afraid to stray from the established laws in anyway, until the very day he dies (Sophocles 1495). Creon is a power-hungry leader. He is developing into a tyrant. Creon is compared to “a politician without the capacity to be a statesman, because he cannot resist the temptations of power” (Winnington-Ingram).

“Violence: An American Tradition” In my opinion, I believe violent ‘trends’ are often repeated in American culture because of selfishness, ignorance and fear. I mentioned selfishness as a factor because that is what drives man to show disrespect towards another. Putting yourself as priority, you are left no room for reason or understanding. This trait I would have to somewhat agree with because the behaviors that are associated with personality, is the traits amongst many offenders. Some of the traits that follow this observation is and not limited to deceitful, reckless disregard for themselves and others, lack of remorse, and no respect for the law. The novel proves that the desire for power can arouse unethical behavior. Firstly, the antagonists display selfishness because they allow jealousy and arrogance to dictate their behavior. In addition, Jack and Roger utilize the boys’ fear, hunger and stir up chaos as tools to manipulate the boys on the island. Lastly, the thirst for power triggers an inhumane behavior because the antagonists torment and dehumanize the children. In conclusion, as it can be observed through this essay, Jack and Roger develop immoral traits in order to gain power, which in return leads to the destruction of their own civilization.
People often believe that bullies are individual sadists in society, who seek pleasure from other’s despair. Due to this common misconception, people fail to understand that an average citizen can become a bully based on the circumstantial factors in an atmosphere (Zimbardo, Lucifer). Various psychological experiments have proven that bullying occurs due to the presence of specific social factors in an environment. Anonymity is a primary social factor which promotes bullying, since it creates a lack of empathy in an atmosphere. The ignorance of authority figures is another social factor which causes bullying since it creates an acceptable environment for victimization.
and may have some potentially long term effects such as increasing the misbehavior, aggression, violent or criminal behavior, impaired learning, depression, and in worst case suicide. The items that are cited here are very alarming and they express the concern that spanking is more than just a punishment. As said before spanking "is the least effective way to discipline" a child for two reasons; both reasons teach the child nothing about the difference between right and wrong. The first fact is that spanking confuses the child. The reason that spanking confuses them is simply this; parents are the example of the difference between right and wrong and all spanking is doing is telling the child is that every time somebody does something wrong they should be smacked for the mistake they made.
