“Criminal Traits” The three theories I chose to compare and contrast are Biological, Personality and Behavioral. All three of these traits have been found in most people that have violated the legal system. As I will explain some of these I find valid reasoning while others I do not. The first one I will start with is Biological. A lot of times you hear of an entire family that has traveled down the same path and has been in trouble with the law. Biological means criminal traits that are inherited. This statement implies to be that if you are born to a mother or father that is a repeat offender then most likely you are going to end up the same way. All though neither of these is proven, there are some that believe this. What has been proven is that personality conditions such as psychopathic and schizophrenia can be inherited. The evidence that researchers have found is that you can predict if you are born into a family of convicted felons that you will most likely follow the same path. However my thought on the Biological theory is this: Yes if you are born into a family of convicted felons that continue to break the law, then perhaps you will follow but not because you inherited this factor from them, but because you were grown up in this environment and raised to think this type of behavior is allowed. This trait I would have to somewhat agree with because the behaviors that are associated with personality, is the traits amongst many offenders. Some of the traits that follow this observation is and not limited to deceitful, reckless disregard for themselves and others, lack of remorse, and no respect for the law. When criminals break the law they are being deceitful, they are acting reckless, have no respect for the law because if they did they wouldn’t be out defying the system, and have no remorse because if they did they could not and would not do the things that they are
